AOTW / WEEK 5/52 / 2020

90s hip hop is my life atm ngl.
What a doozy, time to give my worthless opinion again -

Now this is progressive commercialism right here, everything about this is pretty great. All the type seems to line up and have equal spacing against the edges of picture which I like. The logo by your watermark is awesome as well, plus points if it's your own design. What I especially like about the picture though is how the text is lit up in the perfect colour and how the light reaches the leaves in a really convincing way. Idk if you added the lighting in yourself, or it's a lucky picture but all in all a great piece of template work.

Very impressive adaptation of the G-Man here, and not only is the definition of the face great - the depth of field effect to give that eye the extra sparkle attention is really good use of other post editing methods. Honestly something I feel like I haven't seen v much of before, and it's just enough blur to keep the rest of the picture comfortable and not jarring to look at. If I had to nitpick, the left eye looks kinda bigger? Only in the slightest way but it look intentional too so.. me likey.

I see the inspiration, would have loved to see it be more direct though you know? Like a real trooper line up. But the presentation here is great non-the-less. The skybox is crisp, and the electric posts in the back are quite satisfying too with how it meets the APC. All in all, pretty good picture just maybe some troops look too samey? As how they stand and stuff maybe. Or maybe it's just the curse that all OTA/Security Forces kinda look similar. Me likey tho dud.

Heyyyyyy, I really like this - so let me be thorough. Good use of the square aspect ratio and only focusing on whats worth looking at. The way to the boxes and the safe are laid out is cool too, never seen a gun rest on the barrel before but it looks good... time for the little things. The man on the right's-right foot is deffo levitating just a little? Or perhaps the shadow just aint lining up right? I know this can happen with SFM but idk if you're on Gmod or not. Next thing is just more of a thing I learned when sitting models down. It's complicated to type so read carefully; Position seated models from their pelvis, not just moving both legs up. So if you position them on the floor slightly slanted, then move their legs - their whole lower half will sit on the ground better. Which is why the guy on the left looks kinda levitating too on his right butt cheek. It's little things like that yakno? And light rays dont curve like that either! It looks great but I'm nit picking you because it is great.... a lot to read, hope it was useful.

That is in fact a solid trip on shrooms. I'm a big fan of abstract work, based my final art piece on college on it too but it was much more squarey. I don't have much to add to this for you, beside that it looks pretty cool, kinda gorey, kinda horror-esque vibes. I like, but painting ain't my forté so not sure where you could take it next - perhaps outline human figures in it? Make some nightmare fuel... :^).

My guy got a big pet bird? Hell yeah, looks so cool! Great pictures, I enjoy taking pics of animals but my three rottweilers aren't really as majestic looking. You can't really control a bird for pictures (or so I think) but I'd love to see some where they're in flight if you have any. Looked like you were fighting some dark overcast conditions with these pics so you were stuck with this exposure speed so not sure what to critique. Love the bird tho ;^).

So many photos this week what you guys DOIN. Idk what that first picture is but I like the details you decided to capture and focus on, I know that second one be a vinyl player and I all I wanna know is what you're listening to. Lastly, the light looks really good in focus - but what if, hear me out, you took the pic in a dark room? And then what if you did long exposures and moved the light around to catch motion - possibilities are endless. I like the pics, but not much to critique, but rather give you some ideas. Maybe take pics of moving things?

Wow. Some impressive lighting here, and the poses are really done well-as well. You always create these great preview shots but giVE ME THE MODELS MAN. Not like I'd ever use but I want them. All their stances are great. Their faces show their movements, their hands and arms are perfect too. You know what though... the guy getting aimed at, has a foot off the floor. And the guy at the back has a foot in the floor. Nit picks but that's all I gotta add. Just gotta give that 1% detail and it's a perfect display pose.

This is awesome! There's a clear use of three lights here which I really like. So even though it's dark you can see like the whole picture without it being covered in shadow which is great for me! I have nothing bad to say already fr. Postures are great, lighting is great, weapons are great. Just great. Great. G r e a t!

This is in fact, a great one shot. The fog is perfect too - the light coming out of the mask is great too since it comes off the shotgun nicely. This looks very akin to a Payday wallpaper or even a R6:Siege portrait. Doesn't have much, but it's got enough. Hands and arms are great, nothing bad to say. You guys are getting too good at this stuff for me to even matter smfh.

A nice entry into scene building, I just about get the outline of what it is but it's not all that visible yknow? Scenes are there, just need to spread some light on the equation. Maybe try another scene-build and introduce some lights, see where that gets you. And it sounds morbid but the easiest thing to pose is dead bodies. Build up from there, you got this.

There were a few, and they're good but this is one I think you can really build on. If you can get back to this one, this is really strong - it's really simple but just an extra dim light and some props make a real scene which can be done with this. If you really wanted to anyways. Keep up the good work! Hope to see some more soon.
This really do be a big image. And it's great. I really thought this was a wide lens picture. Know what I wanna see though? I wanna see some kinda fortress. Or a small hut on the cliff. Idk how doable that is, the environment is there it just needs that little Zest of life in it you know? Seriously can't believe I thought this was a photo...

Well, huh... hm... I'm stuck - but if I really had to decide..... maybe, @steambored

A note for Photography in this thread:

I love photos. It is in fact one of my only remaining hobbies I can keep up with. However, they are hard to give useful feedback with you know? I'll always try, because I like to give feedback in tips or just a review but sometimes it's difficult to say more than "I like it" in four ways. Especially when it's candid too? Like if it's of a model, or something you can control then yeah you can review it quite well or maybe think of an idea for the photographer. I hope what I have to say on photography submissions is enough tho.

What a fantastic week for submissions guys, seriously some great work here. My evening got busy, this took me a while to write so I'm sorry it's late. Hope my feedback/tips/reviews/whatever was useful.

Would seriously make you all winners but decided I'd do a winner for each type of media instead.

Just my opinion at the end of the day guys, haven't even made anything myself in months.

Have a good week you guys.
If you don't agree with my decisions or what I said, sorry I guess.
@ me if you need me for anything, or add on steam.
Take care.

I drew in the shadows with Paint.NET, rest was all done in Gmod.
Thanks for the nitpicking, I'll definitely put this to good use for the future! I'm glad you liked it :)

hi not really an entry just want to show progress on a new scene similar to the last one.
still trying to fix some lighting issues when I ask UE for high res screenshots, and maybe looking for some more background assets.
