Harland and Russo retreat into the ocean. Their comrades left behind.

In the end, the data got out.

Thank you everyone for playing and helping. It's great to be back.

This was one of the best events I've been in. I haven't been in many, but that still counts for something, right?
I really liked the wave system, and how the Combine sent more and more forces... up until the Elites. I feel like the Elite squad was a bit much. Just wish there was a little more time in between waves for us to decide to break and run instead of fighting to the bitter end.
Big shoutout to the actors in the event, too!

Booster Bebop lives on in my heart. I WILL play him again one day.

I was the first to die, so take my opinion with a grain of salt as I didn't see the event to the end:

Really good, almost no mistakes which is very rare to see in an event

Map choice was excellent, I haven't played on it before so it was really eye opening to me, and your choice of music was good

One con I can think of? There wasn't a lot of interaction with the map IMO, we were just kind of looking around, walking here and there, etcetera, would've been nice if there were a few small puzzles or something, you know?

Otherwise I give this event a 7/10, keeping in mind that I hadn't seen it to the end, in which case it'd probably be higher ☺️

tl;dr

good event, thanks for letting me get PKed so I could eat food

good pacing was nice to see
good music was nice to hear
good atmosphere was good to see
very much an event with very little done to make it feel at-home - the map lent a grand scale to the liveliness, and the propping helped where it had to to sell the settled-in places
big fan of the map and pacing in total but bigger fan of the action, doubly so for the care for ammunition for everyone to stay involved (since s2m can eat it for the immersion)
i like, i like. will die again. good map.

oh uh not very little done - i mean that very little HAD to be done to make it feel like it was lived-in. the map really was a strong point.

this is the first event that I've not picked up any scripts (except for a smoke grenade which I threw anyway)

it was fun
it was tense
I felt sick to my stomach in real life
When manoucher died, my character gave up, willing to sit and hide, crying over the loss of a man he genuinely saw as one of the few *good* ones
walking past Oskar thinking he was dead, only to realise he ended up dying because he didn't have a radio has genuinely made me feel terrible

my one real complaint is, and I've said it in other events, is the out of the blue sniper that shot me and Mano, I am not a fan of things you cannot predict nor counter, other than that I could say this was amazing

you deserve a cookie

also do u have a high res version of that screenie

also when @Numbers rolled a 0 I audibly screamed so loud I woke up my dad who ran downstairs to make sure I was okay

I've played too many events to count. This was very well balanced: the map, the music, the plot, and the last stand nature. The last waves of Combine were very tense and I thought we were all going to be wiped out. Taking the W on the rolls against the EOW was insane and then realising I had to get out was one of the most tense experiences I've had on HL2RP. It was sad to lose my rebel char but the way PKs were done was expertly done. At the end, I was expecting us to have to escort the rebel in the lighthouse and the NPCs with the data to the boats while avoiding Combine but ended up everyone was already at the boats lel. I was a bit out of the loop without a radio, no idea what was going on

Very fun

I feel SO BAD I completely forgot you didn't have a radio, so when you were hiding under the bed my character thought you was dead and just walked out, and then I didn't remember you'd have NO IDEA where to go until we were already on the boats

would've been nice if there were a few small puzzles or something, you know?
there might have been more interaction but compressing all this action into an event makes it feel a bit out of place

usually I'd focus on one or the other, which is what happened here (action).

Just wish there was a little more time in between waves for us to decide to break and run instead of fighting to the bitter end.
there was time, we even had options to break part of the wave off for people to escape but the only one who really hid was @deathwolf when he had already lost a life & took a serious injury and @Oceana Fireball, although he couldn't successfully escape from the house.

my one real complaint is, and I've said it in other events, is the out of the blue sniper that shot me and Mano, I am not a fan of things you cannot predict nor counter, other than that I could say this was amazing
was me on a cop, was supposed to push up with the OTA to discourage you guys from windowpeeking / roofcamping since it's what you did for the previous two waves but given the stakes were increasing I didn't stick around much

deliberately went for the helmet (which was submaterial'd anyway!!!) just to caution you and did a /itd of the shooter vanishing
@Andrew copped a shoulder shot while he was standing near a window but it put him at a bad position

didn't do anything else on that character

Yeah that was probs one of my favorite events ive done.

I am genuinely sorry to all those who died, but man what a story it was that we told together. Those deaths will have such a lasting impact for everyone who made it out, and you got to give your characters a heroic send off.

Those who participated were fantastic to have as players. Zero complaints. They rolled with the punches and didn’t fuss when they died. Any event runner would be lucky to have them attend.

Also all the helpers were fantastic. east, numbers, sassy, gyarik, medusa. They all were a pleasure to work with and made the event super fun to run

I cannot believe @Phil from MyPillow faced death and beat it not once, but twice. Dude rolled 100/100 to kill an SDR-2, then retreated further into the basement.

@Numbers cornered him and I asked in ooc if he wanted to roll. He said yes, and rolled a 16/100. We all thought it was joever. I genuinely thought at this point everyone in the event was going to die, except maybe Harland who was hiding.

Numbers rolled a 0/100.

We are so back, i will be doing more events (maybe with less risk for this next one :P)

Yeah I was sitting in a corner outside with a double barrel shotgun, my plan was genuinely to use 1 shell to take out the first OTA and then put the second one in my own head I had lost all hope of surviving because I knew there was no way of sneaking from where I was without running into OTA

how great is their will to survive: Indomitable, the fate of too many rests upon his shoulders, he will not give in, he will not accept failure.
how great is their will to survive: Indomitable, he will not give in.
how great is their will to survive: He will not give in.
how great is their will to survive: he may, from time to time, give in.
hope this doesnt accidentally alert you like five times lmao
