I love me some Halo.

My favorite Halo games have to be either Reach or ODST. I like the darker themes and more personable protagonists

Halo Reach was good because it was doom and gloom from the very beginning. You knew all the characters were gonna die fast, and most of them got in some good character development first. And although Halo 3 received most of my prime multiplayer time, I had a lot of fun with Reach's multiplayer too.

halo 3 is the best nostalgia game for me

everything about it seemed designed to be looked at through rose colored glasses, even though objectively it's inferior in some way or another to most of the other games in the series

It's really dependent, though.

ODST, during the Rookie missions primarily, actually had a sense of immersion I feel - so it was unique from that point of view. Halo 2 is my favourite for sheer nostalgia, it being the first one I played back when I was a young duder (and it has a brilliant soundtrack). Reach was the only one I ever bothered to extensively play multiplayer on (only because it was the best option at the time, I didn't start playing MP in general until the earlier ones had died out). Halo 3 was really the same case as 2 tbh, as @Zak said perfectly.

Ehhhh, I loved all the halo's but my top Halo's were probably 2, reach and ODST.

Halo 2 you were just bad ass with your duel wielding SMGs and the starting sequence was cool

I loved reach because it was a change from mastercheif's story and there was a huge amount of customization and the story was really good

I loved the gritty feel of playing as an ODST. it really showed how not everyone is invincible like Spartans, it gave another side to the story.

Halo 3 and it's floodgate mission on legendary

Reach, everything about it was awesome from the deeper look into halo lore, to the planet of reach itself.
It truly showed the threat of the covenant along with the the limited power of the UNSC

Before the UNSC seemed like an unstoppable force of super humans and corny marines (still love sarge johnson tho). In this we see the spartans coming up with crazy plans to even barley weaken the covenant before each one ultimately lost their lives one by one to the covenant even Noble 6

The multiplayer was a great experience, I remember back in the 5th grade me and my best friend would come home and play halo until the sun went down hoping to get the chance to play spire or hemorrhage. We would argue for hours about whos spartan looked cooler. Not to mention how much time we spent on forge or playing fun custom maps.

Then halo 4 came out...we didnt play halo anymore. Now we scream at eachother over who fucked up on pacific standard...all he had to do was follow the damn train tracks to the jump point

Halo 2 just had this amazing feel to it, the soundtrack was above all games for it's time period, as was the story. Halo 3 ODST really brought something new to the series, which is why I enjoyed it a lot.

Halo 3 for it's custom games easily. From release until 2010 I was up until 3am every weekend playing Left for Dead, Trash Compactor, Ride or Die, just about anything with full lobbies. Really had the greatest community, and Bungie did a wonderful job with it.
