I know we got a few bassists in the community, @viomi and @L'Atlas being the two I can mainly think of so I thought I'd drop this thread so we can discuss some Bass shit like Players, Decent songs and shit like that.

I'll start by dropping a picture of my trashy bass that I got for £130.

I usually have it Tuned in Drop D or Drop B as I play a lot of Heavy Songs that Really rape the E String.

Yeah I generally use really thin (90-35) Roundwounds on my jazz. Had flatwounds for a short while but I picked up an old Greco 1972 P-Bass for almost nothing. The flatwounds fit a lot better on there.

Tbh it doesn't matter what bass you get so long as you like the sound and it can be set up well. The action on mine is really low to give it that buzzy-funky feel. When I first started playing I thought that any buzz was bad so my action was like half an inch off the fretboard lmao. Later realised that I like the sound.

Gear4music guitars/basses sound pretty good tbh, just takes a setup and you're good to go. P/J basses are sick also, I've gotta lug around two basses to get the sounds that yours does

That case is sexy as fuck.

I'm not really in to funk in terms of bass tbh, Although Joe Dart is one of my Bass Daddies, Bass solos never really appealed to me. I prefer a really heavy and aggressive sound, hence the Drop D tuning and Drop B if I really want to wake the neighbours.

Whilst they arn't overly complicated I think a lot of Gorillaz songs have some unappreciated bass lines.
