Is it really that fucking hard, I just want to be with her and work my ass there to have a happy life

Depends on your situation, but I'm literally the person you'd want to ask about this because I know the process pretty well.

If your girlfriend lives in America, then you were given the golden ticket to the chocolate factory. Marry her if you want a visa.

Trump is probably the worst time to immigrate to the us dude

orange man is indeed bad

Im only going there in 2-3 years though. Is he still going to be there?

It doesn't really depend on the president that much, immigration/visa requirements have always been strict especially since 9/11.
My parents only got a so-called 'green card' because my father directed the US branch of a european company. You need at least an established job, income, place of residence etc to even be considered. And even then you'll have the hassle of managing/keeping your green card and will have to renew it every year with all the paperwork that comes along with it. A passport is generally out of the question.

Trump is putting restrictions on it.

Uh-huh, that doesn't mean it's 100% harder to do anything for the duration of Trump's presidency though. Sure there's travel restrictions but not for European countries at the moment. Every administration makes changes to the immigration/visa process, that doesn't mean it gets easier by just sitting out his presidency

In some of the more nuanced requirements, yes. Like the income requirements have always been there, but he did tighten them to allow flat out refusal of anyone that could even remotely possibly end up on social services for example.

No matter what president you're under though you're still going to be waiting years for any chance at getting legal documentation unless you're "important".

American presidential terms are 4 years, he's up for re-election and will probably win. So yes?

No he won't don't @ me tho

Ye ur right its not 100% harder but Trump is throwing a cog into the immigration wrench, especially with K1 visas. Still bullshit. Immigration laws suck imo dont @ me either on that cus its not CA.

Not to be le dumb liberal but I really strongly doubt that.

ok this isn't the thread for it but he's an incumbent with an obnoxiously powerful base that has the republican party, thus roughly half the country, by the balls. it's not like i want him to win lol.

being pragmatic about it now is gonna make me feel better when november rolls around and it's a totally predictable shitshow.
