Oh my god this Combine for Safety poster
unknown.png
i just realized that the HUMAN SCIENCE posters are not what we think they are.

it's not about advertising some combine science program, no. its warning citizens about the dangers of experimentation, reminding them of what human science has led to before (headcrab infestation, mutation, drugs, nuclear holocaust)

maybe it's a propaganda campaign calling people to rat out underground scientists such as kleiner and russel.

deep lore shit

I've actually just realised that this sort of proves another point semi-right that we've always sorta taken as gospel.

It was always hinted that when the Citadel gets fucked up and stops 'thumping' (and powering the rest of the network) at the end of HL2/start of Ep1 that's how the Antlions get into the city. Well right now the Citadel is a WIP, and there's quite clearly Antlions inside the city.

Alyx mentions a defense shield when seeing antlions within the city in episode 1 so you are probably right, perhaps this is one of the reasons OTA is so royally deployed.

That’d be kinda crazy tho if the citadel was like a big thumper, the whole city just be thumping all the time whilst your trying to do shit

i want to play this game but im seriously reconsidering dropping 1/30th of a mortgage on a headset (because the £4-500 ones are the only thing I'd consider worth playing for me) for one, maybe two games (vr chat looks okay but its full of giga cringe)

honestly even playing osu - taking the tablet and keypad out each time you want to play is annoying, i can't imagine that with either a pulley system to keep the wires out of the way or having to clear my chair and stuff out of the room to play for an hour or two

tbh im thinking either people will start panic dumping their headsets after they finish the game and the prices will crash or people will mostly keep them and the headsets will eventually get cheaper - either way im really reconsidering if half my entire setup's cost (or a quarter for the 'cheap' ones) is really gonna be worth it for one game, even if it is a half-life game

sidenote if you do get a headset/access to one;

dont keep a vr headset strapped on for too long bois - your eyes need a break

I wanna note that the vodka bottle being empty is probably due to a abandoned factory nearby.

As seen in game play vid 3
You can see the factory with the same logo on top of the roof of the factory.

It being occupied by OTA implies alcohol being contraband? Who knows, perhaps it's a repurposed building storing more important stuff. Probably the latter.

Half-Life isn't the only worth it game that you have in VR. You have games like Pavlov, Beat Sabers or even Boneworks that are excellent. Even more, if Half-Life is a big big success many developpers will see it as an occasion to make more money and will try to follow the trend. It's still a new technology that hasn't been out for a while, it just need time before the library expend

Plus valve said that they dont want to stop on Half-Life alyx lmao

buy a used rift s or a cv1.

sure they're used but that brings the cost down to ~300 dollars.

vive isnt worth it. its bulky and uncomfortable. only works if you buy the headset and then add the knuckles.
rift has very basic finger tracking but very comfortable controllers.
