Alyx did wonders to reinforce certain things and can allow us to better refine certain things (vorts are a very, very good example of that).

If anything the biggest changes will probably come from us having a more concrete understanding of the lore, like how long the Citadel took to build (shit, no wonder Barney hasn't seen the Citadel do anything like a JW before when it's only been fully completed maybe a year or two) and stuff like the Quarantine Zones.

I just finished the game.
I am floored.

I am impressed at Valve's Ability to make a new game after 14 years, and then end it on a cliffhanger at the exact same point as they had last time.
That takes nerves of steel

i have a sneaking suspicion that the gene-coded weapons thing is just a gameplay mechanic to justify the player not being able to pick up weapons from dead combine soldiers, especially seeing as how gordon and even regular citizens are able to pick up ar2s from dead soldiers in hl2.

out of all of the potential lore shit its hard to imagine how the combine used to have gene-locked weapons which then, 5 years later, became free for all to use

Just glad that we got our own in the end, will admit though, wish I could've got that LMG

would agree if it werent explained in actual dialogue, probably just oversight from valve

I think thats his point; its to justify WHY you, as the player, can't just walk over and grab one of their guns from them.

Also I like the point that the Combine are so concerned about the G-man they imprison him and get ready to murder anyone who they think has seen or knows of the Vault.

Still, I can't get over the fact that.
I waited over a decade for a sequel to come out
And after 14 years it finally releases, and I am completely satisfied with the game.
It's a little overwhelming.
