sry not sry y'all couldn't navigate your way out of a paper bag even if you had gps and a rope tied off at the opening.
I'm planning for Pilot anyways so I will just be training for years after commissioning.

How about they undergo the training that they issue to others with their ranks? Like, comissioned officers doing the training they issue with their fellow comissioned officers. There is no logical point in giving training to someone if you don't know how it's like to do it, if you have never experienced such, then why are you in a leading position? To crumble it down?

i mean it's not just a matter of training, dingbat. it's a matter of frontline experience. corporals will end up in an active war zone being shot at by hajis while cadets are chilling back home in their dorms jerking off to porn hub. by time that cadet has left the academy that corporal has already been promoted 3 times because of the work he did, not the book he read.

what didn't you like about it?

spend a day doing barracks duty. absolute aids. 24 hours of aids.

a lot of it is honestly just boring ass mundane shit you gotta do starting at like 4-5 am. maybe 6 if your co likes you guys.

Also, what is this? Can you please explain?

a lot of fresh commissioned officers earn their rank in a SCHOOL. either through a proper military academy (like west point for a big example) or through like your local university while being enlisted. it's one reason why p much every uni has military reps on campus.

no they do not receive the same boot camp experience. much more lax. i mean at proper military academies they are a bit more strict but it isn't necessarily proper boot camp strict. at college though you can jerk off the whole time and not get screamed at by a drill sgt before the break of dawn.

it's not non existent, it's just not the same.

Oh boy, here I go ranting about military school again.

So I went to the Duke of Yorks Royal Military school for 3 years, I was a Senior Under Officer, so I got a cool sword and yelled at people and shit. In my years of being there it was a lot like the military itself in it's culture, I'd say a good 2/3 of the people there were from Military families - it was incredibly diverse, most of the school was foreign (that mostly being a make-up of Nepalise and Nigerian students, as well as some Irish, American, German, Russian, French, Spanish, Indian etc students that I was good friends with).

During my time at the school I was pretty openly a lesbian/bi and oh boy did I get beat at night a few times for that (although in their defence I consider myself bi now so whether the beatings worked is left up to interpretation). I heard similair stories from other LGBT people in the actual military. The culture there was very, very divisive and aggressive, the other gay person in my dorm ended up hanging themselves in the bathroom but fortunately lived, but was damn near close to not living. My house, actually, had the highest number of suicide attempts, self harming and people in therapy.

People there hated eachother, especially as terms drove on, first night back people's sleeping schedule was utterly fucked and no one gets to sleep, but everyone was good friends, half terms lasted 4-6 weeks, and near the last week or the last 2 weeks everyone got very virile and aggressive.

Most of the worklife there was basically:
6 lessons on; Monday, Tuesday and Thursday.
4 lessons on; Wednesday, Friday and Saturday.
Parade on Sunday (although that later got moved to Friday to accomodate locals and bring people in for exeat* weakends)
Drill practice on Tuesday and Thursday.
Sport on Wednesday and Monday
Chapel on Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Sunday (Sunday service being around 40 minutes long, a lot of people said they were Roman Catholic to get into their seperate service which was around 20 mins long, some people also said they were Muslim to get out of it entirely.)
CCF on Friday. (Combined Cadet Force, army shit.)
Clubs on Tuesday.

*Exeat is a weekend once a term where you can go home to see your families, this was changed to be every weekend later on.

Ironically, my sport and club was both rock climbing on my last year there because I worked out how to game the fuck out of the system. Otherwise it rotated between Hockey, football or whatever else they had for us - sometimes it was literally just the gym.

Also, the sports weren't in replacement to our GCSE sports, by the way, you still had to do sport as part of the GCSE curriculum, which you had two lessons of a week, but that was a lot more relaxed, especially for year 11's.

We did have Prince Harry visit one year, he came with a lord who went face first into a metal fucking bench:

Still in awe that no one laughed. If you want the video of Harry visiting, here:

There was a lot of chatter in the ranks about whether or not it was him, as the simpin' neckbeard wasn't meant to have a beard like that as it's out of regulation, but since he hadn't been on duty in ages he let his beard grow out.

During my time there I learned to shoot an L85, lead troops, guess distances, command my guard, march, all of that. It's a very memorable bit of my life, and I have a load of stories from that school that are just beyond fiction. I did want to join the army as an MSO in the RAMC but now I'm orientating more towards civi life.

If you want some really really weird and fucked up stories from the school then hit me up and I can share some.

Imo everyone should experience the same. No "poor baby :c" treatment.

I have 1 thing to say: The Crucible.

The only thing worse than that training wise is SERE.

No one gets to piss and moan until they do that shit. I'd rather rub a cactus on my taint than do that again.

Basically we all slept in doorms and you could literally just go to someone else with no restrictions at all. But it wasn’t full metal jacket style it was more or less just one person or two dragging you out of bed and hitting you on floor. Or at night yanking you’re pillow off you. And one time I got slapped in the face while sleeping.
