Character Selection Screen Issue

Having a little issue with the character selection screen, it happens to freeze up on the animation when a character is selected (When the menu floats down, it freezes once the 'load a character' in purple text gets close to the bottom portion of the screen); No errors show in the console, and the character loads in, just a clientside issue of not getting past this screen.

What we've tried:

- Fresh install of GMod
- All addons removed completely aside from Nebulous Content
- Graphics reduced to low
- Actually buying CSS,HL2, EP1 and 2 rather than using fake addons

All of which hasn't resolved the issue.. If anyone has any ideas, please let me know.

As in, deleting the files, then redownloading the addon.


Does it still do this when you're in different resolutions?

Oh, I remember having this problem as well. It's completely client side as you already stated. But I only really seemed to get it when I clicked onto the character too fast while everything was still loading. I'd notice a lag spike and then get stuck on this screen while actually being on a character if I clicked in the right place. My main advice would be to just wait a like 1-2 minutes after joining. Though maybe try having a bind for "record 1:stop" and press it when this happens? Never tried it myself but it might work.
