VR is what put it over the top. It still plays and functions like a half life game with new innovations and a killer story.

It’s worth it.

i dont even have a vr headset but nothing about it strikes me as extremely innovative except for maybe the finger tracking or whatever

also they ruined vortigaunts so it immediately gets a 2 star review on yelp

it seemed more like a tech demo to show off new stuff in source 2 and VR


kinda like all the other half life games

I mean it’s a full length game that shows off new features. If you went by that logic then any new game that shows off new features is a tech demo.

It’s weird how it works in VR. Everything has to be super high resolution because players are gonna fuck with it, from cans to pots to a piece of bread. People reportedly spent like 30 minutes in literally the first area just fucking around with stuff.

I agree it’d be super short on keyboard and mouse but it’d be a totally different game.

this is the first full length game in VR, everything until now has pretty much been tech demos, short games built around one concept or ports

I remember a couple or so years ago I saw a YouTube video of someone predicting hl3 was gonna be a vr game because I had to be something as innovative and ahead of its time as the previous titles.
