actually after a bit of research i came upon this:
https://www.asos.com/converse/conve...ar-hi-white-and-rainbow-trainers/prd/20273984
according to the manufacturer, converse, they are:
“Converse chuck taylor all star hi white and rainbow trainers”
although they may look like a boot, they also do not fit into the criteria given by the oxford dictionary:
“a sturdy item of footwear covering the foot and ankle, and sometimes also the lower leg.”
while it does cover the ankle, i do not believe these shoes are very sturdy, they also do not seem to be made out of rubber/leather, as most converse shoes are made of cotton canvas, a material that does not protect the users foot from cold/moisture, unlike most boots, nor do they have a raised heel
i have come to the conclusion that these are in fact hi top cotton canvas trainers, and not boots
