I'd hoped the setup from someone like Nexus would encourage people to do more than just treat this like Heavy Snow 2, I've got to be honest. Yes, it is the Uprising. Yes, conflict happens. But that conflict is easier to manage when people set out with plans and goals that can be worked with rather than just blindly rocking out and ending up in deaths or NLR's because "wowie zowie S2K".

People have spent the past week bitching about the S2K portion and meant that any sort of actual ironing out of things had to wait until Coast and it became the usual all-consuming demon it always is.

I'm still confident but fuck me can we change the attitudes please? Ya'll dragged major reforms through the mud to get OL and now you are on OL (obstensively for the passive and RP potential) a lot of you aren't even using it lol.

@dallahan ayo can you just let the players play whatever they want to? If someone finds OTA "roleplay" entertaining then good for them. If they don't, they won't or shouldn't apply for the faction, simple as that.

You don't have to shit on the players for having fun on a Garry's Mod server.

Also honestly, Uprisings are really, really hard to do. And I mean really hard.

I've helped run two of them and I legitimately cannot tell you how difficult it is to cycle through maps while giving people goals and action and risk while not stomping them while also not being unfair while also balancing the length so people don't get bored. Weaving an overarching narrative is a nightmare to do.

Burnout is horrific if you don't pace yourself.

I'm not going to rag on anyone for how this event has been on the test map, because frankly it could have been a lot worse and had a lot more issues. There's still quite a long way to go and we'll see how the next two maps go.
