Most likely yes, the vehicle shop won't be an NPC vendor though and will probably be a player owned business.

It's been a while since our last GTA RP progress update, with a lot of our backend systems out of the way we've made significant progress towards gameplay features and refining the overall look of the user interface.

Icons:
Thanks to Jamie our items now have handcrafted custom icons. This means we can keep a consistent and beautiful art style for all of our item UI.

Drugs:
We have a new and robust Drug system that encompasses both medical and narcotics; painkillers, marijuana just to name a few that will be available.

Phone Apps:
Chirp:
A social media app for your phone, it's important that we allow players to interact and post what's going on during their time within the City.

Calling & Contacts
Need to share your number? Use the hot-drop feature within the contacts app to do it with ease.

Rentals:
If you can't afford to purchase a vehicle legally, the various rental shops have you covered!

Fishing:
Looking for a hobby? Why not try fishing, go to popular spots to catch some unique fish!

We'd love to hear any feedback or suggestions you have!

can you add an alternative dark mode to the UI
im not colorblind but at the same time the bright purple and white on the inventory gives me some struggles

everything else is slamming

you should put a severe credit penalty on car rentals if they blow up or are severely damaged or else people will just stunt/commit crimes in them with it being (i assume) difficult for cops to investigate who 'owns' the car, unless it says who's renting it.

idk i guess it can be done ic

edit: also, this is all extremely sweet and i'm glad you guys are making great progress on it. cheers.

Also worth mentioning that a car under your character name won't be enough grounds for police to arrest you, they'll need to identify you.

Really nice, but could change the like button to be a Nebulous icon, like on the forums here. So that way it's "nebs" instead of "likes".

Or if you really wanna seperate it, idk, a bird icon so it's "chirps" instead of "likes"

We don't really want to have the server IC branded as nebulous in that way, it's not a bad subtle idea for the like icon.

Progress is much much faster now we've got our networking and backend stuff sorted. We're not reliant on random third-party addons like other servers but that meant building from the ground up.

I'll be completely honest, and I swear I don't mean any of this in a negative way, but I do feel a little underwhelmed by this update compared to the previous ones, especially due to the time gap. Obviously I understand that for art assets and the like it takes significantly longer, but a part of me was hoping to see more core system stuff, like even more stuff on jobs or home management, idk. Maybe I overhyped it in my head a bit too much? I'm not sure. Like small quality of life stuff like fishing is cool but idk seeing stuff like shop ownership or something might've been nicer? I don't know.

I'm happy we have new things, and the only melancholy I have comes from a desire for even more. Please keep up the awesome work and gimmie that Update #5 asap <3

Understandable. We should've pushed this post out much sooner and wanted to cover what had been worked on in somewhat chronological order since the last one.

We've already set out what we plan to show for #5.

Edit: We also want to avoid showing off too much.

Honestly, I don't think you can show off too much. We clearly want to see more as much as possible and as often as possible. It doesn't need to be everything as obviously having elements that we can find ourselves will be cool, but seeing stuff like house buying and customisation, shop ownership, various jobs like cop work, criminal stuff like robbing an ATM or something. Farming is something that I personally wanna see too, drug and food. The desire to be a rancher runs deep in my harvest moon blood.

I'll see what we can do with showing more, we're also really strict on ourselves not wanting to show of something that has any sort of bug in it. Criminal activities will likely be kept under wraps and out of any update posts, it's a side of the server that we want players to discover and figure out for themselves.

Completely understandable on both parts, I suppose.
Maybe, if you can't directly show stuff, list off what's currently being developed and should hopefully be ready for the next update thread, just to get that anticipation going?
