Ayy, I posted a thread on this a few days ago. Basically ElDewrito is a mod for Halo Online; a canned Halo game for the PC back from 2016 which used the Halo 3 Assets & Engine. The guys from ElDewrito basically got their hands on a leaked version of Halo Online and built it from the ground up in order to make it functionable and be usable everywhere.

0.6 is now available. I've played it for about an hour and it feels pretty close to Halo 3 on PC except for a few occasional audio bugs.

Hmu on Steam or in a Forum Convo if anyone wants a hand in how to get it up & running.

whenever i try to join, its a 50/50 chance of crashing or joining, then a 25% chance the host won't just leave midway and end the game

Your best bet is to join the Halo Online Discord and head into the game-invites channel. You can join games through the invites posted in that channel, and you shouldn’t experience any bugs when your in such as the server browser overlapping everything.
