Serious Do we plan to emigrate to S&BOX (Garry's Mod 2) in the future?

I know it's still far out in the future, but the fact that it runs on the unreal engine combined with the ability to import assets from pretty much any game seems like a big plus.

there's no logical reason to move.
why would anyone want to switch to a worse codebase with fewer assets and more obstacles to overcome, especially when the game engine is being made to mimic source in every way?
you would be moving to a worse product for the sake of being on the "latest" platform. GMod, though as awful as it can be, works for the most part and has a working content distribution platform.

so unless S&box adds some completely revolutionary new feature that isn't just a copy of something UE4 comes with by default, and isn't some useless gimmick, then I don't see any advantages of migrating, and therefore I believe the answer is almost certainly "no."

I believe that this community wont even exist by the time S&Box comes out.

I'm just saying S&Box is nowhere near done so if this community lasts until 2020 then sure I guess we could migrate but all communities die at some point :grinning: and the game might not even come out in 2020.

Cmon, you know I dont mean the community is bad or anything I'm just saying all communities die. But yet again this community has great devs and staff so I dont see why it cant last for a couple more years.

Wouldn't it allow for better performance, higher stability, and bigger maps?

Just curious, I know nothing about these sorta things.

Sandbox doesn't allow for any of that, UE4 does. Sandbox is effectively a dumbed down version of UE4 in it's current state which isn't really appealing considering UE4 toolset is already great.
