In Bela Tarr's seven-hour episodic film, inhabitants of a small village in Hungary deal with the effects of the fall of Communism. The town's source of revenue, a factory, has closed, and the locals, who include a doctor (Putyi Horvath) and three couples, await a cash payment offered in the wake of the shuttering. Irimias (Mihaly Vig), a villager thought to be dead, returns and, unbeknownst to the locals, is a police informant. In a scheme, he persuades the villagers to form a commune with him.

REAL STASI-LAND DESETITUTION HOURS

I think you suggested this to me once and I still haven't found seven hours to actually fucking watch it.

From what I've seen it looks great though.

There you go lads.
Enjoy.

Not even all of the pictures
I just really need to sleep soon and not spend posting pictures of the Romanian Revolution all night

Y'know I will say there's something oddly sobering about looking at old war photographs.

Like literal snapshots in time for the people living in the moment and experiencing it. Where did they end up after? What happened to them? Its wild to think that thirty or so years have passed since most of these were taken.

i don't think it's right to compare a bela tarr film to anything normal/relatable considering you need to be on like 7 different levels of big brain to watch any of his shit

Reagan, Gorbachev and Honecker are being chased through the desert by Arab horse bandits.

"Please stop chasing us, I'll pay you!" Reagan yells, but the Arabs just keep charging.

"Please stop chasing us, and I will teach you how to build the People's Paradise!" Gorbachev yells, but to no avail.

"I have an idea," says Honecker, "YOU ARE NOW CROSSING THE SOVEREIGN BORDER OF THE GERMAN DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC! WILLKOMMEN!"
All the Arabs flee screaming.

After reading up on the lore and ideas Rosebud has been planning, my theory is that he poofed and then binge played a shit ton of Escape From Tarkov and proceeded to add a few similarities.

XM-8 would be available for the more clandestine NJSOC and SF groups. But sort of makeshift guns will be the go to for many of the early on groups and such.

No they wouldn't be.

Undercover operatives would likely not use weapons that stick out like a sore thumb, but blend in to look like local militia if they were to strike by using small arms, or relatively common local weapons left over from previous wars. I really doubt SF is going to use experimental weapons. They don't have reason or need to do so in occupied Germany.

Why do Stasi agents operate in threes?

One to read.

One to write.

And one to watch the two intellectuals.

Some in the weapons pack aren't going to be in the final version/some are missing, right? Because no Walther PPKs would suck, and some of the weapons are from the 2000s or 1999 (Like the MP7 and SR-2). I assume some are experimental but I'll wait on the response to be sure.

I'm personally not one of those hardcore gun realism folks, while I do try to keep a sense of realism attached to it.

We took some pretty big liberties throughout every iteration of WW3RP, usually citing wartime speeding up weapon development etc (as seen during ww2 for example) and generally taking items from the rough timeframe rather than a specific date, 1999 wouldn't be much of a stretch in 1992 where a global conflict has been going on for some time. We had some weapons listed as 'experimental approved for field trials' when referencing weaponry that was a bit too modern, usually only giving them to special units like the SF.

For other items like the SR-2 we create a fictional variant just to fill a gap or special purpose, we had one on old ww3rp where we renamed it to the SR-1 and wrote up a general backstory for it.
