looks like they're leaning way more into the story aspect in this one (which is cool)

I don't really care for Overwatch at all but damn some of these new character designs are pretty dope ngl

its so not-different that blizzard confirmed everything you're getting in OW 2 (maps, characters etc) is also being shipped to OW 1

YOU CAN EVEN PLAY WITH OW 1 PLAYERS ON OW 2

why would they fucking do this

the pve in overwatch previously was boring, and if that's all they're making exclusive they aren't gonna pull good profits, surely
i guess that also means that all the upgrades/character specialisations are gonna be pve-only which is a big downer - even though it seems to be a focus of the trailer

seems like a logistical nightmare to organise

anyway @rob how do you rate new mercy

OW2 shares the same game mechanic when they published story events in the first game,
but this time it's a little bit advanced, so yes if anything it's the story that makes it

I haven't read up on OW2 much so I might be out of the loop but if

1) OW1 gets everything OW2 has
2) OW1 players can play with OW2 players

doesn't that just mean it's a standalone expansion, giving people the option to buy the new content without having to first buy the old content in order to play it? I don't fully understand all the fuss if it's literally just an expansion that can be played as a standalone rather than a full new game that doesn't connect with OW1 at all.

Like the original company of heroes expansions etc

They're selling it as a sequel game, not a standalone expansion
