also the holdout in nova prospekt was dope. placing turrets to fight off wave after wave of overwatch was some pretty fun gameplay dont kid urself fella
storming the fucking beaches of the region's most garrisoned prison and transhumanization facility using nothing but pheromones to coerce antlions to attack the defending bunkers on the ridges was overrated
in parallel, the final wave with the vortigaunts during This Vortal Coil was quite possibly the most hype combat in the entire series featuring some badass instrumental
I ain't here to say that HL2 gameplay wise was better than HL itself because let's be real that shit was gucci. but red letter day? running thru the canals and shitting on cops and that one hidden zombie in the sewer grates? mate u smokin somethin else
HL2 aka fight the exact same NPC for 90% of the game with either an SMG that cant hit shit outside of breathing distance, a pistol that is similiarly inaccurate for some reason, a shotgun that is ok, or a pulse rifle that you can fire for like 2 seconds because you can only carry 90 rounds
also sandtraps was actually pretty fun. i loved that floor is lava shit and having to build an actual bridge to cross the sand. was abusable as fuck just by hopping back and forth with one door prop but still.
not gonna lie the story and the game never interested me
I got sucked into this shit by a friend in 2013, the shit that comes out of it is far more interesting
maybe it was "to white forest" or smthn. my fav bit is the radio tower outpost where the hunters ambush you and you get to kill them for the first time
i mean lets be real, after the HL1 games the half life universe is so much more interesting if you just remove gordon plotarmor freeman and gman the admin character from the equation @fermii socii
@Dallas oh yeah, that's a good one. thats the fight where the track Last Leg plays and its :ok_hand:
Just want opposing force and blue shift remastered like black Mesa
