I told him to appeal around the end of January-Early February. If I was still Ban Appeal management, I would have lowered his ban to at least 8 months or something at that time. That's the minimum
@PilotBland No offence but you have no idea how many other things I have to deal with around the community on a daily basis. Did you see me post on the appeal? Did you see me viewing it? You're making an assumption that I even knew he was appealing it.
i have to agree with @PilotBland last statement there, if you put people in a position to make the decisions based on it, you should accept it even if it isn't something you always agree with
Permabans usually get the input of the SD as the final say, and in this case BQ held his hands up and said he'd rather have someone else make that decision which is why Alex stepped in.
I like Jaf, but it also wasn't the first time he reacted that way *and* had did it during a final event in the biggest group of people he could.
the ban appeal staff shouldn't have to always ask headstaff a second, especially not you cause you don't come a lot in the server unless there's something to be done
There've been times where SA's have unbanned some people they shouldn't have simply because they weren't properly informed due to having not been around and/or the appeal skipped under the radar. S'why, again, the SD usually has the final say for permabans of a serious nature (or if not BQ in this case, then whoever he passed it on to which would be Alex).
Ah it's the old "You don't come on the server" argument. Ban appeal staff don't have to always ask headstaff which is pretty clear but this wasn't a regular ban was it. Anyway since you had to pull that dumb statement as usual, I'll be ignoring this comment thread and then in future you'll wonder why we aren't transparent.
Jaf acted out of anger on a situation where he was too closely attached to his character, and yes while it's true that Jaf shouldn't of done it (and he's aware he shouldn't of, and has apologised profusely) and that he'd have to serve an extended period, he has done so, and he hasn't kicked up fuss. He's been awfully good while banned and kept to himself.
We've had far worse people on the server, who have done far worse things, and while we could play the arguement of "who's done what" let's just focus on Jaf. Jaf has been a member since the very beginning of nebulous, and has been a contributing member for as long as I can remember. Bar his lapse in judgement he's done barely anything and nothing to harm the server for the long run.
