intel was one of the worst things to happen to tnb and i briefly commanded it
Numbers
Numbers
was it solely due to the fact that they tried to use CIA tactics or plain out poor management and the sort

@Numbers generally had a blatant disregard for resistance rp/other roleplayers. people used to meme about it being a PK squad and when i joined it I found out why
Cindy
Cindy
most of my time spent as intel command was trying to undo the years upon years of awful reputation it had by trying to communicate OOC with resistance leads and trying to repair all the bridges the faction burned
Numbers
Numbers
so a tldr would be they discreetly killed most people with almost no chance of survival and ruined a load of RP that way?
Cindy
Cindy
i wont lie it makes sense for there to be somewhat of a military intelligence arm to the Combine but there's no way to execute it in a fashion that respects the opposition's ability to roleplay OOC
Cindy
Cindy
and besides, investigations/detective mysteries should be done by normal cops
Cindy
Cindy
@Numbers thats exactly it.

they'd capture rebels and make them become informants, and if they failed to do so they'd kill them. thing is, if you were caught being an informant by the resistance, they'd kill you too.

your character was effectively railroaded into a "die or die" situation with no proper way of escaping. people that'd escape to the second server (outlands) to avoid getting gatted by intel would then get assassinated descretely by infiltrating intel agents. something I even had to do as an agent, and I deeply regret it.
