But thats the thing. It isn't convenience. If I put you in the SD seat and let you see the full thing you'd probably realise just how much of the community is /forced/ around dealing with people who ape the experience - to ensure they CAN'T do so.

You wouldn't abuse it, I'm sure. You also aren't a big chunk of the playerbase who're not breaking rules but instead simply force responses and complain about it.

Equally its very easy to tip the balance on a community like this because someone authed/said/allowed a poor judgement call to happen. Its less "BQ takes too much on" and more he likes to know whats happening on the server he's trying to run, y'know?

They are. But obviously, sometimes they make very poor calls anyway. Its not even that BQ wants to (or does) step in all that much. He just wants a "hey, this is happening" so he knows.

Because again, there was a history of SA's accepting stuff they THOUGHT was fine but didn't exactly consider things properly. Its just common courtesy so you don't get a repeat of what started it, which was waking up to Steam messages about rebels setting off a mustard gas bomb in the loyalist block during a big preplanned event that was to push the plot forward back on early CW.
