it's just a little outlandish, having a robo crow who spies on people or whatever it's purpose and a extremely overpowered robot that can't be touched by anybody and is extremely buff as fuck it's like, you know.
any chance you can convince him to drop the "all knowing" aspect, I want to do some stuff with @dee in the far future but it's a bit hard when D22 (worldwide, as the sole branch of union science) is globally overseen by a supercomputer that knows literally everything
i'm not exaggerating, CASS once told me it knew every single working of everything science related
They just feel too bloated with features and stacked with the potential to do anything, in place of anyone. There isn't a fear about them dying either; they just come back in a new body. It also opens a big can of worms about why there's so few / why they're so underutilized. Those questions are just kind of explained away with new lore that doesn't really satisfy the question to me. I prefer Chip Brennard.
nobody complained about disp being all seeing or all knowing, it always starts with the things UIL has, everybody starts forgetting that we are in 2025.
Tech is in its prime atm and things are being reinvented and d22 has multiple assets ongoing which could more or less if discovered upset the city.
As far as I can think UIL was established some years after the 7 hour war as means to propose 'our tech' to the combine, which lately teleportation is a big topic.
Yeah but what can one do?
removing disp is retarded without replacement which suggests a high command post which is going away from normal lore.
If you would want to keep scanners but remove the decisive entity you'd still need some form of command.
that's dispatch - however, UIL doesn't require (nor need) an omnipotent, all-knowing electronic walking machine that is capable of weathering EMP attacks, antlion acid and tackling antlion guards (as seen in an event)
