The removal of BMD, that sated the needs of many and didn’t involve character killing expeditions to gain items. Expeditions or events could focus on development instead of the players incentive to get gear.

you can be a snarky little faggot but it’s not proper development when 7 people die are either just all throwaways made for the event or people who sign up to get gear and get s2ked

okay but most events aren't like that and the ones that are are typically lampooned by the community

and what are you talking about, fucked the server? rebel rp and citizen rp are both booming right now. there has never been a better time in terms of rp quality.

just because you don't have literal paramilitaries hiding out in secret bases and locked compounds doesn't mean there's no rebelrp. there's a fuckload. it's just not as blatant because people have to play it safe instead of ordering an ak47 from the silk road.

and what do you expect to happen? people die in stories, and the deaths aren't always glorious. death is good and is to be expected.

at work but I’ll make a proper post then after

if there is no death, conflict, risk, or tension, then you have no basis for a decent story. everything becomes a stagnant mess of token-farming and inaction.

i'd love for guns and weapons to be more common and for progression to be more streamlined, but BMDs, ration farming and pacifist chars are the reason i never played clockwork outside of events

It removes a lot of possibility for story elements, for one.

Illegal trading is a lot easier than trying to icly justify “yeah bro 3 scrap metal and a wooden piece for a bat” which gameplay wise is more illogical than just trading a set price point

Story element wise, with how CAB is and they’re extremely lenient, I’m peeved I can’t just pay off a guy to take out my political rival, rebels have things I don’t and don’t need from me, I can’t do corrupt shit or collect barterable shit so it’s all dependent on event for corrupt cab instead of the server
PilotBland

Also big trade events, gang warfare ordeal where I had some plans of some similar Subrosa tier rp, but realistically there’s not good substitutes for giant rebel groups that are logical. Like ‘guns’ sure, but it’s easier to have an actual currency to pack. Bartering is no offense, for the most part considered primal as fuck, and currency would be set up down the line.
PilotBland

Every society goes to a form of currency then sticking to bartering cause it streamlines it to shit.
PilotBland
PilotBland
It’s effective. It was easier to just use the enemies currency cause at some form at the top it’s regulated.

@GenericPlayer why do you think folks want masks to go the canals? People want a degree of pacifism, rebellion rp isn’t all around just undermining the union by direct action, but merely existing outside of their rule. Freedom after several years of oppressive control.

But obviously you can't put that currency back in because this isn't real life and people don't treat it like it is. BMD's (and Crafters with how they worked) were the main source of problems in RebelRP stretching as far back as LP when they literally were the most powerful and aggressive group for two years.
