No it isn't a hostage situation @Chadwick it just makes Whiskers look like shit, which again, he himself stressed to be and others repeatedly he doesn't want people doing this. And Nexus, Whiskers explained his side but there's literally no proof so Alex gave him a chance to redeem himself, which is currently ongoing.

We're a community of people who like to dick around and play games, make jokes. The selling point of Neb (for me) is interacting with friends and people I've played games with for years. I don't see why there's this distinct divide between headstaff and player that has to be clouded in smoke when really no one in said position is different from the regular player. Everyone's here to have fun at the end of the day.

lets just give everyone a break and sleep a night over it. Everyone's agitated and stressed out and this has been evolving a little too far now, lets not make enemies here

Also if Alex didn't legitimately have doubts Whiskers was the one who leaked it and he wasn't being genuine he wouldn't have agreed to see how he goes before the unmute, which is what he's been doing. Just please - lay it to rest, Whiskers doesn't want this sort of thing blowing up and there's no drama on his end as I talk to him often.

I don't doubt that's the reason, but I doubt that the reason given is the full story behind what whiskers actually did. I've heard several different stories, from some claiming whiskers was the owner of said site (which he wasn't), and others saying he posted some image there (which again, he hadn't). (1/2)

Nonetheless, if Blackquill isn't involved, then surely the one to mute him should step forward and actually speak with whiskers in his appeal.
