Milder but slightly more infective than SARS. I believe that the coronavirus will get a good chunk out of Asian countries while western countries will remain less affected due to their better healthcare and better protocols regarding to health screening. There's no need to be really alarmed about it but just emphasize more on handwashing and try not to go to large gathering places or go travelling to places.
The mortality rate so far seems to be 3-5% which mostly accounts for older adults with health complications such as diabetes, high blood pressure etc. The symptoms are more or less slightly aggressive version of flu/common cold but these symptoms can develop into lower respiratory tract symptoms - shortness of breath, breathing difficulties, respiratory distress.
These symptoms are the more serious ones and can really cause a lot of issues. Though, recovery is possible. It seems to take 20 - 30 days for the virus to clear out of the body. Sometimes, there's no fever which makes it even more sinister because fever is one of the biggest initial giveaway symptoms that may identify a coronavirus case.
