either the evader ousts themselves by breaking another rule or showing that they’re a ban evader, in which case they get banned again, big W for everyone
MaXenzie
MaXenzie
or they don’t break any more rules and no one finds out, in which case it’s no longer a problem and the player’s reintegrated, big W for everyone

thats until you realize the ban evader in question is a groomer which is a big L for everyone

Nobody wins. Ideally, if you need to step away and think you might return you should just ask for a ban.. which is almost always offered to people before their account is deleted.

alright mert that one’s an exception lmao

and yeah Alex honestly I’m talking more about when a troublemaker gets banned, more so than a willing account deletion
IF someone evades a ban, they either get caught and banned again, or don’t because they’re being functional players

At least from a rehabilitation standpoint, the ban technically did its job

You're right, the only issue there is that ban evasion IS rule breaking and it kinda shows to us that you've not changed at all?
MaXenzie
MaXenzie
yeah the argument entirely hinges on the player both not getting caught evading and not breaking any more rules in future

odds are it’s likely happened, so it’s weird to think that there might be some people who’re just acting nonstop on the site

Pretty much. If you want an unban, take some time away from the server or community and come back without causing any more hassle; it usually goes well for people.

what’s honestly weird is hearing the people say shit like “it’s only a week/month ban” when I get panic attacks over day-long bans

worked well for me hello

Why'd you think my bans are usually 1 year or perma? People don't seem bothered by short bans.
MaXenzie
MaXenzie
man I get bothered by bans of any length

I remember trying to appeal a fuckin forum warning
Not even a ban

no one changes in a month

a year or more does a lot to a person

in the two years i was gone i practically became a different person

long ass bans might seem harsh but it's a surefire way of getting the job done

After a year or two, you either come back with a fresh attitude or are no longer interested in the community; that's a win imo.

tbf tho u do have some people who just never change no matter how long you give them

might seem like they did but they didn't and it's unfortunate that discovering that fact requires damage to be caused in some capacity

the internet is a hellish land
