it's far more popular in north wales, and there's even some towns in rural wales that speak welsh exclusively

in south wales, the vast majority do not know the language

Was wondering if the situation is similar to Kashubian "language" in Poland (it's okay if you've never heard of it), where the youth that comes from the region where it's traditionally spoken flat out refuses to learn it, thus causing it to slowly die out
