I listen to way too many to name, but the most recent of my favourite bands are Boris, White Stripes, QoTSA, Melt-Banana, The Dead Weather and The Raconteurs - How about you?
Mix of all. But my latest tastes are: Franz Ferdinand / The Raconteurs / Slaves / The Offspring / AC//DC / Beastie Boys / Arctic Monkeys.
Knew was worth asking, checked out Dead Weather and it sounds funky as hell. \m/
Ah, so I assume you're a heavy-riffs/melodic type, ay?
I feel like you'd enjoy some of these bands:
Dozer - (The Hills have Eyes)
Truckfighters
Stoned Jesus - (Here comes the robots)
The Attomic bitchwax
Karma To Burn (fifty-seven)
And finally Wo Fat - (Riffborn)
My top favourite band is Greenleaf tho, feel free to play around with these bands, some have absolutely insane guitar jams.
Yeah I guess so, especially if the guitars have some sort of thick fuzz to them aswell. I've actually heard that song "The Hills Have Eyes" before and the riff is pretty sick. Truckfighters sound promising. Also, pretty funny that a lot of stoner rock bands come from Sweden. Didn't know that.
Also, I'm following a channel on youtube called Fuzz FM that just posts stoner rock compilations and found a song by a band named Samsara Blues Experiment. The song is called Singata (Mystic Queen), it's pretty sick.
Brilliant. I love the background guitar effect which is more prominent in the song "Cyclone". Beside, this song gives off a vibe of longing for something.. something unknown. I love it.
Just the feel of it reminds of:
Greenleafs - The Timeline's history
&
All Them Witches 3-5-7
Oh wow, I listened to it before, but I never realized it had both Josh Homme and Dave Grohl in it, how cool is that.
"Elephants" was the riff I always remembered them for. Overall they've got this on-the-edge-of-indie-rock sound. Reminds me a lot of "Freaks On Floor - Star" -Lithuanian Indie
Kinda mind blowing to think such a relatively low-key group is composed of superstars.
to think of it, My dream mega band would consist of:
Jimi Hendrix on Guitar and Vocals
Ringo Star on Drums
Flea on Bass
Ever had a "perfect" band yourself?
