Aw dude, your music taste is awesome by what I've seen in that thread. I gotta know, what are your fav bands? )

I listen to way too many to name, but the most recent of my favourite bands are Boris, White Stripes, QoTSA, Melt-Banana, The Dead Weather and The Raconteurs - How about you?
TarzanTheJungler

Mix of all. But my latest tastes are: Franz Ferdinand / The Raconteurs / Slaves / The Offspring / AC//DC / Beastie Boys / Arctic Monkeys.
Knew was worth asking, checked out Dead Weather and it sounds funky as hell. \m/

Dead Weather is great, Jack White is on the drums and backup vocals

Myeaah, those were the good times. Heard his newer solo stuff?

(By the way, I insist on checking out Fu-manchu - Eatin' dust. It reminds me of Jacks Fuzz-guitar from Salute your salution).
mårten
mårten
Yeah, my fav from his newer stuff is Black Bat Licorice. Also, way ahead of you on Fu Manchu ;))

That's such a groovy song! Mine's Lazaretto :D.

And bro pls, fan since Signs of Infinite power. You're into stoner rock? )))

I haven't really delved that deep into stoner rock/stoner metal but like, Kyuss has a few sick songs and QoTsa too.

Ah, so I assume you're a heavy-riffs/melodic type, ay?

I feel like you'd enjoy some of these bands:
Dozer - (The Hills have Eyes)
Truckfighters
Stoned Jesus - (Here comes the robots)
The Attomic bitchwax
Karma To Burn (fifty-seven)
And finally Wo Fat - (Riffborn)

My top favourite band is Greenleaf tho, feel free to play around with these bands, some have absolutely insane guitar jams.

But I'm like jelous of you, you're from Sweden and that's where most of my favourite stoner rock bands either go or are from :D
mårten
mårten
Yeah I guess so, especially if the guitars have some sort of thick fuzz to them aswell. I've actually heard that song "The Hills Have Eyes" before and the riff is pretty sick. Truckfighters sound promising. Also, pretty funny that a lot of stoner rock bands come from Sweden. Didn't know that.

Also, I'm following a channel on youtube called Fuzz FM that just posts stoner rock compilations and found a song by a band named Samsara Blues Experiment. The song is called Singata (Mystic Queen), it's pretty sick.

I know! It's weird, like Dozer/Greenleaf=Swedish, then Skraeckoedlan from Finland I believe.

I'm following two pages "Doomed & Stoned" and "void - stoner doom worship" on facebook. They regularly serve up quality stoner stuff.

But that song... Man, I have a playlist on spotify called "Freedom" and it fits marvelously.

Check out "From Roots To Needles - If these trees could talk" An epic 6 min instrumental much like what you've given me.

Listening to the song rn. Kinda reminds me of some post-rock stuff, like com(?) by Mono. It's a 15 minute instrumental, really good.

Brilliant. I love the background guitar effect which is more prominent in the song "Cyclone". Beside, this song gives off a vibe of longing for something.. something unknown. I love it.
Just the feel of it reminds of:

Greenleafs - The Timeline's history
&
All Them Witches 3-5-7

Have you heard Them Crooked Vultures btw? It's basically a Josh Homme pet project but they have some sick songs.
TarzanTheJungler
TarzanTheJungler
Oh wow, I listened to it before, but I never realized it had both Josh Homme and Dave Grohl in it, how cool is that.

"Elephants" was the riff I always remembered them for. Overall they've got this on-the-edge-of-indie-rock sound. Reminds me a lot of "Freaks On Floor - Star" -Lithuanian Indie
mårten
mårten
Yeah. Their bassist is John Paul Jones who was the bassist for Led Zeppelin so it's a pretty impressive lineup. I like the sound of Star.

Kinda mind blowing to think such a relatively low-key group is composed of superstars.

to think of it, My dream mega band would consist of:
Jimi Hendrix on Guitar and Vocals
Ringo Star on Drums
Flea on Bass

Ever had a "perfect" band yourself?
