Something has been buried here. Just what could lay beneath the soil for those lucky enough to find it?
Some remnants of backpack and bags are visible, but they're rotten through - their contents spilled into plain sight for those that dig deep enough.

A piece of Hive comb, meticulously harvested from the heart of an Antlion nest. Inside it is a live antlion grub. It responds to humans with some apprehension, but reacts to vortigaunts more positively. Has a voracious appetite for headcrab meat, although it will eat anything - as long as it is not too solid.

A glass orb with strange fractals inside of it - an exotic prism. It splays light in esoteric directions and concentrates any flow of vortessence into a much more refined form.

An alien-looking spear, reshaped from scrap metal into a strange harpoon. The copper lining that spirals along its length allows sufficiently strong electromagnetic currents - like those of vortigaunts - to cast the weapon at much greater speeds than when ordinarily thrown.

An unusual, cylindrical object made of scrap metal. Its inside slosh and glow faintly. Copper nubs at its ends indicate it is a large battery of some kind - able to take charge from vortessence.

A handheld device made from borderworld materials. It can, for example, detect radiation and scan the chemical constitution of what it's pointed at. Uses a form of glyphs that, while not necessarily requiring vortal cords, can only be readily interpreted by those with great understanding of vortigese. Powered by vortal energies, but can be used up to a week before it must be charged again.

Various pieces of anatomy harvested from an Antlion Guardian. A "pelt" that contains many strips of its battered shell, five quills fashioned from its feathers, and a 'crown' sprouted from the carapace of a Guardian of seemingly high prestige.

Two sets of vortigaunt shackles. One obviously used in the late stages of Combine occupation, disabled by an electric surge. The other much richer in green tones, revealing itself as fully functional Xen-style shackles.

Two sets of CivPro electronics, too, lay at the bottom of some fabric scraps. They may be a little damaged, as their former owners likely did not simply hand them over.
The hive comb is an actual custom script, and the rest are IC items. Have fun finding the stash.
