Do you have Microsoft Word?
If you do:
  1. Click the picture that you want to compress.

  2. Under Picture Tools, on the Format tab, in the Adjust group, click Compress Pictures.

    588bcf55-b895-495c-b3aa-2b952faea664.gif

  3. To compress the selected picture only and not all of the pictures in the document, select the Apply to selected pictures only check box.

  4. Click Options, and then under Compression options, select the Automatically perform basic compression on save check box.
Other than that I can't do much.

It's been resized a bit, should work just as well.

Your avatar's file size is too large. Please upload an avatar no bigger than 253.9 KB.

Wow! Can I improve the size?
Image needs to be compressed.

For jpeg or jpg... http://compressjpeg.com/
For png... https://tinypng.com/

Also make sure you're not just cropping a larger photo, you'll want to "cut it out" if you would, of its larger deviation, you can just do that with gyazo or whatever, that way you're not uploading a full, cropped photo, but a proper one that fits the dimensions and therefore lessens the size.

hope this helps.

If you have an image over 200kb you're doing something wrong.

Get me a gif compressor.

You basically can't use gifs unless they're mega compressed.

This is seriously complete BS in my opinion. :c

I mean, I recently made a gif of Yollandi headbumping, which was around 250kb at first. Did not accept it.

I compressed it down to 150, nope. 140, 130, 110, 100...

Then all the way down to fcking 40kb's, and it accepted it.

Now, this CURRENT avatar I have is 630KB'S, AND IT ACCEPTS IT. WTF!?

No, that's not the case. As I've said, I've been trying to use the gif I made of Yollandi Visser headbumping. It did not work even though I compressed it all the way down to 100kb's. It worked when I compressed it to be below 50, but then it looked horrible.

This gif I'm using however worked even though it is well over that size by a healthy 400kb's
