he said as long as you know the basics to get you out of a pinch and have a reliable specialist garage near you then there's nothing to worry about and it'll be as reliable is not more than a modern car
i've got to factor in the idea that it's an old car and it's reliability may not be the best
best way to ease your decision is to ask yourself two simple questions:

a) are spare parts available for reasonably cheap, or is there a huge shortage (imported model, expensive as fuck, limited manufacturing run, etc)

b) will you get gouged to fuck by specialist mechanics, or can you drive it into any decent place for a service?

it is a very fair point and realistically i will go for the sensible option, end of the day i can still do little bits and pieces to it and have the joys of it being modern and not rusting to shit in the winter because our roads are awful

red honda badge for meme points that's epic

i'd get an s2k but the cost of them here alongside insurance makes them unattainable

case in point, only decent one that isn't an insurance bodge-job or stupidly high miles

and this again raises another point

you going to be sticking to the highways and urban roads 100% or will you take the car offroad at some points?

I wouldn't buy something that can't handle huge potholes and dirt ruts right now because I'd have to take it through some nasty, council neglected side roads that could sink a city car. if you're occasionally going semi-rural the evo's probably better, especially because it's designed for it.

about 30 miles to the airport from where i am and that's the extent of it, further adding to the reason of not needing one

see that's my gripe too, audi tt is around the same price as these evo 4s i'm looking at (9k-10k) but i've got to factor in the idea that it's an old car and it's reliability may not be the best

yet on the other hand with german cars if something does go wrong they charge you an arm and a leg for the repair costs, my grandad has owned 4 audi A3s because each time one has something wrong he just sells it and gets a new one to "save money"

there is an evo specialist literally the town over from me so that's always handy and always important. i remember speaking to a pilot on the way back from greece whilst in the flight deck, and he's got tons of old america muscle stuff. he said as long as you know the basics to get you out of a pinch and have a reliable specialist garage near you then there's nothing to worry about and it'll be as reliable is not more than a modern car
evo's in my experience are pretty solid stock

i'd get an PPI on it before you pull the trigger just to make sure it's solid

also for rust (cars don't rust in texas) can't you just get like an undercoating or something?

it costs an absolute fortune for it to be done properly, they usually have to blast all the old crud off, whack a layer of sealant on and do a ton of other stuff, i'd not have a car for a week at the minimum and out of pocket a LOAD, the old jap stuff isn't anodized steel on the bottom so it just falls apart if introduced to any form of tough stuff like road salt

in the us or japan it's fine, over here where even if it doesn't snow or get icy, they still put it on the roads which destroys it

horrendously overpriced what the actual fuck

okay yeah its a 2000gtr but there is no way on planet earth that thing is worth 139k
supply and demand i suppose

only 1197 made and probably a miniscule amount of those found their way into europe, but you still wouldn't catch me paying that much for one

like, dude

i know these aren't authentic hakosuka gtr2000's like the one in the picture, but they're still well under half the price (considering 139k invader money is 256k dollarydoo)

if u arent convinced, ive seen real hakosuka's sell for like 100-130k here in the past too
that bottom one is pretty epic but that comes out at like £37k and i still wouldn't pay that much for one
