CloudFlare has changed "pirate" IP sites to bypass a blockage in the network Cogent.

A few days ago the US and Europe, users have noticed that the main provider Cogent more than a week blocks in the network user requests to the "pirate" sites such as Primewire, Movie4k, TorrentProject and TorrentButler. Blocking established over IP. These resources are working with the service CloudFlare, who gave them an IP address - 104.31.18.30 and 104.31.19.30. CloudFlare - is CDN-provider, the client traffic passes through their sites and servers is treated as real resources "live" for the IP-address of the company.

If the user traffic wishing to open one of these sites and does not pass through the Cogent network, all opens succesfully. Otherwise, user can't connect to this resources. The reasons for blocking are still unknown, although it can be assumed that the main reason - the rights holders, rather their desire any means to close access to resources with users of unlicensed content. On qusetion about the reasons for blocking a Cogent spokesman week ago said that the company know about the problem, but wouldn't discuss it with third-party companies and journalists provider.

Now the situation is nearly understood. Cogent Director Dave Shaeffer made a declaration stating that the blocking was introduced on the basis of the decision of the Spanish court. However, The Pirate Bay is not mentioned in the solution, although as indicated above, access to the network resource in Cogent also blocked.

The problem here is that some resources, working with CloudFlare, may have one IP. Therefore, if the network of an ISP blocked access by IP-address for a resource, then the other sites with the same address will not be available.

Representatives of the affected operations the main provider side of the CloudFlare, stated that the unavailability of resources, this is the problem. "These problems occur, if expose Internet by censorship or follow instructions to block resources", - said the head of Clodflare Doug Kramer. - "Restrict access to a specific domain may not be so simple." He said that difficulties appear even if you want to block access to the site within the same country.

Typically, judicial decisions about restricting access to websites submitted for providers who directly serve users on the network. Backbone providers such decisions relate to rare. top-level providers are affected the least, because the restriction of access to anything in their network can cause unpredictable consequences.

Interestingly, the providers in the United States can't block access on their own decision. Nevertheless, the law of that country does not prevent the blocking of access to any resources on a court decision. By the way, most of the "pirate" sites, to which access is blocking by Cogent, previously studied by UK law enforcement agencies. As a result, the court ruled that the country should begin block access for citizens from local providers.

Whatever it was, the response is already taken. Thus, recently the sites The Pirate Bay, Primewire, Popcorn-Time.se, Torrentz.cd and other IP-addresses have been assigned. With regard to the recruitment of new IP, you can know them quite easily.

After changing all the "pirate" resources, including The Pirate Bay, Primewire, Movie4k, Torrentproject, Couch-tuner, Cyro.se, Watchseriesfree, Megashare, Hdmovieswatch, Torrentbutler.eu, Afdah. Movie.to, Mp3monkey, Rnbxclusive.me, Torrentcd, Moviesub, Iptorrents, Putlocker.com and Torrentz.cd, again became available to users whose traffic passes through the network backbone provider Cogent.

CloudFlare - a company whose reputation depends on the availability of dependent sites. Perhaps, in order to again bring resources online, avoiding blocking CloudFlare employees and changed the IP «pirate" sites. At the same time, the old IP remain locked.

While it is unclear, how Cogent will act. Will the company make the "black" list of new IP, or this whole situation will cease to grow? The company itself states that, in general, the courts may require Cogent, the provider to take action in respect of the various sites and IP-addresses. If the user decides to request Cogent resources, which IP is included in the list of restricted addresses by the court decision, the access to this resource will also be limited. The most interesting thing is that Cogent does not consider it possible to control the impact of input IP blocking access by users to other sites.

According to Kramer, the main provider for the easiest way to carry out a court order blocking worldwide access to certain resources, even if the ruling applies to any one country. In general, Cogent company fully complies with court orders, although in some cases it causes some difficulties.

By the way, Russian courts don't sleep as well and already blocked current IP's too, that means, that russian users can't access to nebulous.cloud as well anymore without VPN.
