    hungary ripped off britain
jk that's just the first time it was an official national flag in hungary, the red white and green tricolour was apparently used in formal ceremonies in hungary since the 1790, predating both italian and british republican usage of the colors.

The national-republican (the initial pre-liberal anti-fuedalist nationalist movements, as opposed to later European liberalism) revolutionary period was a chaotic time. Some revolutionaries in Britain (and in fact all of Europe) straight up flew french-style Red White and Blue flags to show their allegiance to the ideas of the revolution. There was very little standard consensus in revolutionary movements on flags. Only around the Liberal Revolutions of 1848 did monarchies begin to realize the potential of using revolutionary tricolours to strengthen their own position by incorporating them into nationalistic mythoses as national-flags, etc etc.

imagine giving a whole family a full, exorbitant paycheck just because one of their members has an inherited title from 1734

I'm pretty sure multiple problems can be tackled at once? I get it, it's easy to bring up the "there are bigger problems" argument, but that doesn't mean it makes any more sense. If problems had to be forcefully solved one after another we'd be in one hell of perpetual delay.

Ofc it's not a monarchical tyranny, but it's an expense that amounts to literally nothing. I'm unsure what the crown does in the UK, but here in Spain, the only useful guy in the family is the king (Felipe) because he's basically head of the army. I'd be fine with leaving him that position, but I'm against us having to pay for the rest of the family's free pension because they have speshul last names.

Plus here in Spain the Constitution gives immunity to the king, making the President responsible for whatever fuck-ups he does. Like, LOL.

There are always bigger problems, doesn't mean the thing has to be procrastinated forever, it's like paying an insanely expensive pension to a whole family (each family member gets their paycheck, mind you) that do literally nothing at all. At least have them do work of some kind, idk, monarchies are outdated as fuck, completely out of place nowadays.

If they are such a figurehead how come she removed the democratically elected Prime Minister of Australia with her archaic colonial system of power? Oh, and coincidentally, just while CIA coupmaster behind the murderous Suharto regime, Marshall Green, became the American ambassador to Australia?

Also it's amusing to see all this talk of tourism, as if republics don't have men with funny uniforms patrolling their palaces and tourist attractions.

Ever since and before the Magna Carta they have been and remained a figurehead of the British Status-quo, and at times openly reactionary. You believe less in specifically the monarchy so much as the status-quo. You're a neoliberal who isn't offended by the innumerable horrific crimes of capitalism. Every single thing you've let go or compromised with in favour of 'gradual change' and 'reform' was just more to reinforce and protect capitalism, which has permanently defiled the earth and in 40-50 years will literally kill the planet.
