Download error;

I'm experiencing an error when I try to connect to HL2 role-play,for about 60% of the log in it's fine,however when my client attempts downloading the file materials/decals/blood_puddle_0.1.vtf.ztmp,it will typically freeze up for about 5 minutes,then crash.

Things I've tried

• Verifying the game integrity: Nothing happened
• turning off server downloads: Now it freezes at retrieving server info
• Re-installing all add-ons: No change
• Disabling all add-ons: Connected,however all player models are errors
• Disabling all add-ons (excluding server pack): No change
• Re-installing Garry's mod: Resulted in being able to connect once
• Restarting Computer: No change

Please help guys,I've gotten nothing from previous thread posts,and I love role-playing HL2

If you say error, did you get any error code, message anything?

Pretty sure an addon causes this, did you download any stupid or weird addon?

You could try to delete the addons folder. If you have CSS so Counter-Strike: Source, there make sure you drag and drop it out first.

also try to delete the cache folder and verify the game again, and then try to check the download folders and try to delete stuff from there too.

If this doesn't work, deinstall gmod fully, disable steam cloud, download gmod and enable steam cloud again.

I haven't tried reseting gmod without steam cloud, but I tried deleting my cache folder and verifying the game, and got this error when I tried to join:
failed to lock index buffer in CMeshDX8::LockIndexBuffer

Uh, unistall DirectX and use newer one?
