    does this effectively cancel e-thots?

i see it forces people on tinder to have proof of ID necessary to use it, which would be good thing because as of right now, there's a lot of underaged girls using it.

if this is aimed at pornography and child trafficking, which it seems to be, I don't have too much of an issue with it.

i wouldn't doubt that reason is funded by paul singer who profiteers of sexual exploitation of women through investments in pornography.

requiring proof of age on apps like tinder is one thing but going after end-to-end encryption supposedly in the name of protecting kids is another issue entirely

you don't understand how it works, do you?

the war on child pornography is pretty much like the war on drugs, trying so bad to arrest mentally ill people watching fucked up videos and weirdos on chatroulette, while the people who actually perform the violences most of the time are just chilling living their life in third world countries.

i mean sure, if it's aimed at "child trafficking" then why not forbid encryption, make the NSA bots scan everything you write online and make internet service providers legally responsible for what their users do online (did i emphasize enough on how fucked up that is and what repercussions it could have?)

child trafficking is not something you fight online, you have to PREVENT the kids from getting harmed, not just arresting the people downloading a video of a child who has already been abused countless times and (tragic) maybe doesn't even happen to exist anymore.

why do you keep talking if you just keep embarassing yourself by not understanding my arguments?

    child pornography != child trafficking

both are bad, but one is worse than the other

if the Five Eyes Alliance really wanted to crack down child trafficking they would send FBI to philippines and arrest the abusers on the FRONT LINE.

But guess what instead? They just want to pass a bill that forbids encryption and forces providers to feed everything to their unknown propetary scanner, with the excuse it's for "fighting child trafficking", and the american brain obviously is baited!

but the jimod roleplayer brain goes "lol hide ur hard disks LOL" although not realizing it's a bill getting passed in the US, not in EU where i'm from so I could care less.

But yeah I'm not even gonna stand for cosmic brain truckers not being able to stand for their own "freedum" and accusing me of being a pedophile, so enjoy getting stripped of your privacy.

Does this cancel E-girls. It must be good then

Who invented this acronym? I honestly expected it to be more related to "pull yourself up by your bootstraps" policies. Not only does it sound super smarmy, but also super vague with little direct relation to child abuse on the web ("Eliminating Abusive and Rampant Neglect of Interactive Technologies", aka "Intentionally Abusing Many Ambiguous Dictionary-Intensive Condescending Keywords")

I mean, there's no use arguing with people here when it comes to any kind of interventionism. Any and all arguments are just negated by "it's for the greater good", which apparently makes any and all decisions by the authority or corporations automatically good.

    Unless it's left-wing policies, I guess.

it's just a nice moral justification for further curtailment of privacy. it won't stop at "dunking on pedophiles", i can guarantee you that.

So did I think about climate change and human rights, but look where we are now.
Looking at the legislation itself, it says
Which leaves a lot of leeway in terms of what they can actually do. But, there's also this section
But you know, it could just end up in "We considered not tracking every last detail of someone's Internet usage, but then figured it's for the best we do it anyway."

let's not forget data breaches until now have caused 4 billion credentials and other important data to be publicly leaked, on top of that you'd ALSO want the government to add their very own backdoor everywhere?

i think we also all know how much children get abused online through the infamous e-peen.
