STORY

Black Mesa​

He was a Scientiest in Black Mesa, one day he is tasked to experiment a Yellow Glowing Crystal, soon the Experiment goes wrong and a Resonance Cascade begins, opening Portals to the Alien Borderworld Xen, killing most of Black Mesa, he fights through Aliens, Marines and against the Leader, Nihilanth. After he kills Nihilinth, a mysterious man named G-Man forces him to work with him. Gordon Accepts and is put into Stasis for 20 Years.

Spoiler: Alternate Ending

Gordon doesn‘t accept and is teleported to a Room full of Alien Grunts, without any Weapons and dies as the Game fades to Black

After the 7 Hour War​

The G-Man wakes up Gordon from the Stasis and leads him to destroy the Combine, Barney finds him and leads him to Dr.Kleiner, on his way there, he quickly grabs the Attention of the UU and is tried to be killed, right before getting captured, Alyx saves him, and brings him to Dr.Kleiner, there he gets his old Suit and through a series of Events has to go to Eli Vance‘s Lab. He manages to kill Dr.Breen and most of the Combine in his Time in C17, at the end of EP2, Eli dies and ends on a Cliffhanger, making his Fortune from now on untold.

His Voice is unknown, but Gordon can speak, in the Menual of the PS2 Version from Half Life, there is a Letter, with a phone Call written on it, one of those two Callers was Gordon, confirming he can Speak

Not sure if I got it right, but in the beginning of Episode 1 he seems to question his own "decision" to destroy the citadel. Gordon was also apparently obsessed with teleportation before the Black Mesa incident, he made his degree thesis on it and was the reason he started working on the project to being with, and generally not a very serious person considering he canonically destroyed Magnusson's magnificent microwave casserole out of a prank and raced Barney into getting inside a closed room by using the ventilation shafts. (Alyx points it out around the beginning of Ep1 if I'm not mistaken). However he was also a model employee at Black Mesa, as demostrated by the "Employee of the month" picture you can find in his office in Opposing Force.
