What is this?

In a few words: Roleplay Craigslist.

In an effort to jumpstart roleplay in the new server/iteration, you may find it wise to pre-establish connections with other characters. Perhaps you're wanting someone to play a family member to your character, or you want to have previously known someone from another city. Or maybe you're looking for something a bit more thorough- a long term writing partner to complete a theme you're looking to establish with your character's story arc.

Whatever it is, you can post your character concepts and what you're looking for here as a prompt for others to reach out to you if they're interested in completing your idea. I have genuinely no idea whether this is something you all will latch onto or not, but it has worked wonders for me and others in past communities.

Character Name: Dhonu Lal / JUDGE-5
Character Faction: Civil Protection.

Briefly describe your character:
A Nepali man of little faith who once upon a time joined Civil Protection in search of a better roof and a better meal, not knowing where that decision would take him in the years that followed. Despite his rank points, he's from the old school, and has done his best to keep his head low.

What are you looking for as a roleplayer?:
Other cops who may have hailed from C93 (Tbilisi, Georgia) or perhaps other cities prior to him being stationed in 93, and recognize him. I'm looking for long-term camaraderie from other units who might be interested in carrying some contorted semblance of that forwards into our character's inevitable transhumanity.

Any and all kinds of roleplayers welcome, although Narrativists & Simulationists are preferred.

if you escaped City 17, Abe is one of the many whom you may have seen
Abe is a simple vortigaunt, blending in with many of the rest, and has only really become recognizable to you if you took the time to speak with him and ask him his name
Abe may not recognize you, but Abe will be or have been your trustworthy friend or ally

Character Name: Raszagal
Character Faction: Vortigaunt

Before the Black Mesa Incident ferried their kind to the cosmically distant shores of Earth, Raszagal benefitted greatly from the wealth of shared eons through the Vortessence, the exact definition of their craft could not be accurately translated to terrestrial comprehension. Artist, philosopher, oracle; each attempted description further strayed from the spirit of their cultural contributions. Needless to say, their presence enriched the livelihoods of those their work had touched- an endless font of curiousity that challenged ancient concepts that predated even the youngest stars and used the medium of the Vortessence to fascinate the whole of their species.

But amid the chaos of the Resonance Cascade, Raszagal was deeply injured. The shadow of death hung over them, only narrowly saved by their accompanying cluster who provided otherworldly medicines and healing to aid in their resuscitation. And though their efforts were not in vain, Raszagal awoke to meet a most terrible fate:

Silence.

The timeless songs and hymns of the collective Vortessence did not course through them. Their history, their culture, their entire way of life- Gone. Out of reach, intangible and distant. The shriek of horror that bellowed from the wounded vortigaunt rang through the countrysides with horrific reverberation.

For the first time in their primordial existence, Raszagal felt alone.

Their depression only worsened in the early years of the occupation. Hopelessness consumed them whole. A stranger in a strange land who had been forever removed from the very fabric that brought them together with the rest of their species. Bound in the shackles of their new masters, Raszagal suffered for many years. Their custodial assignment fell upon the few remaining libraries in City 93, which despite being excessively pruned of contents by local authorities, offered the Vortigaunt a lifeline to save them from their despair. Their surprising fascination with human literature became an obsession, and it wasn't soon after that they began writing on their own in secret.

A secret author soon became a scribe for the voices of freedom; a poet born from insurmountable suffering. Where they once withered in lonely anguish, Raszagal sensed a feeling most profound: A sensation that dared to be individual.

What are you looking for as a roleplayer?:
A travelling companion or long-term companion who might have known them while they were a subjugated biotic, or someone who met them after their escape from the city. Rasz is a rebel propagandist, and as such their companion would likely be someone who believes similarly about their ideas for a post-occupation society.
