Stop calling GMod / Source Filmmaker / Any 3D Artwork Software renders 'poses'.
Let me explain.
a traditional render is a piece of artwork created in a 3D animation software made up of multiple elements.
The models.
The textures for those models.
The rigging.
The poses made from the rigging.
The background.
The lighting.
And the post-processing.
This is all soon rendered out into what is called a render.
a pose is the rotation and position of a model's bones to convey their emotions or current actions. a pose is just one of the MANY THINGS that makes up what is WHAT YOU'RE ALL TRYING TO REFER TO, a RENDER. let's say i have this beautiful wonderful sfm RENDER with lighting, scenebuilding, POSING and editing. what would you call it? NOT A POSE. you'd call it a RENDER. would you call a photograph a pose? NO. would you call a drawing a lineart? NO. would you call a painting a color? NO. WOULD YOU CALL A HAMBURGER A COW?! do you see where i'm getting at? a pose is one of the many things that makes up a 3D render. The textures for those models.
The rigging.
The poses made from the rigging.
The background.
The lighting.
And the post-processing.
This is all soon rendered out into what is called a render.
IN SHORT,
Would you call a drawing a lineart? No. It's a drawing.
Would you call a photograph a pose? No. It's a photograph.
Would you call a painting a color? No. It's a painting.
Would you call a movie an act? No. It's a movie.
Would you call a video game a 3D model? No. It's a video game.
So why would you call a render a pose?
Exactly.
EDITOR'S NOTE: i don't actually care it's jsut a joke :)
