It's rather simple to understand. Every day I come from school and all I want to do is join the server and join in for roleplay. I connect to the server but it either always times me out, I lose connection or when I finally am able to load a character, the screen goes black.

Can someone please help me? It's frustrating because most of the time I spend at least 1-2 hours trying to join and here I am ruined with this.

i'm just going to suggest the same shit as everybody else
verify integrity of game files
uninstall and reinstall addons
reinstall gmod
clear cache
chkdsk
gmod_factoryreset

I recently reinstalled and uninstalled the addons. Not sure about the rest.

post more info for help
does this happen on every garrys mod server?
does it happen in another multiplayer source game?
can you monitor your router's logs?
http://startrinity.com/InternetQuality/ContinuousBandwidthTester.aspx
download and run this, then try to connect and play on the server, once you time out, look at the logs of the test.
if you want help, you should be more specific
