Character Name: Kha’uri
What kind of character do you plan on portraying? How do their traits distinguish them from the rest of their species?: A stronger belief in unity between humans and Vortigaunts being the key to toppling the occupation due to past events in their life, although despite holding the belief that if Vortigaunts become too isolated they won’t achieve the potential power they can harness. They are quicker to work with humans than some of their other kin but will always hold the value that Vortigaunt alliances will always be potent than a mixed alliance between human and Vortigaunts. They are the opposite of a pacifist however, believing that potential inaction against the occupation will lead to more and more losses, holding a lesser view on their pacifist kin although not akin to wishing for direct conflict for this inaction. This also applies to humans, believing that groups who don't take an active role in toppling the occupation have no right to call themselves true freedom fighters.
Brief Backstory: After the demise of the Nihilanth and the portal storms, Kha’uri was set apart from their tribesmen and kin and quickly assimilated into Combine society. Only briefly spending a few years under the shackles of the Combine Kha’uri was freed in one of the earlier resistance operations on a Combine FOB where they served as a janitor. This spurred a greater trust in humans than they would’ve had before, with the fact that they were freed from captivity much earlier than other Vortigaunts. They found themselves living a nomadic lifestyle with a small traveling group of Vortigaunts, acting as a makeshift tribe whilst two humans worked with them as an attaché, finding it more suitable to travel with these creatures than join more of their kind. These humans acted as the communication between Kha’uri’s group of Vortigaunts and rebel groups, with Kha’uri sometimes also working on forging alliances between human and Vortigaunt. Their effective use of the Vortessence was seen as a powerful tool, allowing Kha’uri to act as a formidable asset both in protecting their tribe and it’s human orbiters but also in assisting resistance groups in operations if seen fit.
What kind of group(s) are you planning to work with (if any)?: For now? None, it’s most likely that they’d work with other Vortigaunts due to their beliefs, but they won’t turn up an offer to work with humans to further the cause of liberation as shown in their background.
Do you intend to request a power specific to your character? If so, specify (Keep in mind you cannot use this in S2K situations): I probably will in the future, but nothing springs to mind at this time.
