Heya lads
So anyway I am getting a new desktop (I call it the problem slover 2.0)
But because my dad is a cunt he is not allowing me to build it myself and instead wants to get it from ....
Argos
I know the shock and the horror so I found something that was simular to what I had in mind for my build and i was hoping to get peoples opinion.
O'course I will upgrade it the second it gets here (Most likely put in a Intel I7 processor)
So thoughts?

It's a decent CPU & the amount of RAM should both be plenty for most modern games. The graphics card is good too, one of the best in terms of cost - performance. The case seems fine and air cooling is fine unless you're getting another CPU specifically to overclock (Which I wouldn't recommend)

TL: DR; It'll get the job done and the graphics card is good value for money.

My personal advice would get an SSD, if at all possible 256 GB or larger (Anything smaller will become an annoyance as you'll constantly find yourself running out of space) in ADDITION to the 2TB HDD (Or a1TB, you honestly won't need that much space). The difference between running your OS/programs on a SSD are night and day.

I can't say much on the total price since I'm not familiar with UK prices.

If you don't have the money to outright buy all the parts you need for your machine then you shouldn't be buying it right now

It is a heavy financial investment to be making and I personally recommend building it yourself over time with the parts you currently have (if you don't have a laptop that is)

And I also wouldn't get a 1050 when you can get a 1070 for a minor pricejump or instead go for the new AMD series

Also, your GPU will need 8 GB of RAM (personal recommendation) if you insist on only getting 8 GB for the machine itself

and never go cheap on a powersupply, because if it fries, as does the rest of your machine

and yes get an SSD and plenty of storage space

the pc you linked is really overpriced, least 200 over RRP or more

man I'm younger than you and didn't know that much about PC's but I built one only two months ago, it isn't that hard, research it, try and convince your dad because it is a waste of money.

If you buy the parts separately odds are that there will be a warrant for replacement in case they break, so it shouldn't be an issue but I still understand why he has concerns about you building it

But really, it isn't rocket science figuring out where stuff goes, and it is pretty intuitive despite how difficult it can seem at a glance

900 quid for that lol jesus christ
awful pricing man tell ur da its well worth it to just build it urself
if your das going to be a faggot about it too bad but if u can at least try to convince him ur saving urself at least 200 quid on that
ur better at least trying it show him some youtube tutorials tell him its easier than it sounds etc and u might be able to get him to let u do it
ur wasting fucktons of money for some paki to plug some wires in and screw some screws in which u could just as easily do urself lol

It's got decent specs but at a high spec price. I'd try checking in with computer specialist stores that sell parts as well as pre-builts. In Australia, www.pccasegear.com has pre-builts that are only 5 or 10 dollars more than buying the individual parts.
