So I got a virus on my PC. I removed it all but the only thing left is when I open a new tab Startgo123 comes up. The thing is it seems like it inst on my computer. All of the tutorials say remove it in control pannel but it doesnt appear for me. Any help?

Here's a various lsit of anti-viral software you can get ahold of. Usually most viruses can be removed with this software which can wipe background files still dorment there.

I have avast, and I've done a scan, and it says my PC is fine

If you mean a browser tab, wipe its cache, cookies and whatever. Also, try fiddling in the settings, disable unwanted addons and change your homepage.
Install something like Malwarebytes Anti-malware and do a full scan, it should remove the malicious software.
[doublepost=1471544070][/doublepost]Yeah, it is a browser hijacker, not a virus. Using Malwarebytes should fix it, but if it fails, just do the rest of the things I mentioned above.

sounds like a browser hijacker/adware, get adwcleaner, and spybot search & destroy - thatll get rid of it

Very useful tips, they get rid of the roots of the problem.

On a more serious note, please, don't go to shady websites and don't download random stuff from the internet.
And never click on URL shortener links if they are provided by an untrusted source - it's a very easy way to fool average users into getting malware onto their computer.

if you install shit from a site you don't know, always crosscheck the filesize and scan the file btw

basic safety habits, but i've not had an antivirus for about three months and i havent caught anything

run every .exe in avast safebox fam

use https://www.virustotal.com/ very good website, to check files n such, also websites that may contain malware.
