Starting LUA (Unable to connect to gmod server)

Hi,
I cannay connect to servers for some reason, the following have already been attempted:

Reinstalling Gmod
Deleting and reinstalling addons.
Switching off server custom files downloads.

Single player still functions with all addon content.

When I fail to connect after a few minuites of waiting the following appears in the console:

SHA256 in cache file doesn't match!!
Requesting 93 lua files from the server
Disconnect: Tada timed out.
Disconnect: Tada timed out.
Restoring gamemode to sandbox

it's the event map. a lot of people have been having the same issue, myself included. the source of the timing out seems to be the resource pack for whatever reason.

kinda have just stopped trying to fix it at this point

Aye but its any server for me. Without the map content as well.
