An update using community made content. Which is always neat but shows Valve isn't doing the work themselves.
The TF2 team, at this moment, is like two people and some contractors hired to address actual code spaghetti, not put updates out.
It's not an issue of Valve as an amalgam not doing the work so much as it is that most of the TF2-adjacent people at Valve that
could rejoin the team and put together an entire update themselves,
a la Jungle Inferno, are either not able to, or simply don't want to work on TF2 right now, be that in favor of other Valve IPs or freelance work.
Valve's whole 'work on what you want' structure is ... interesting like that.
