Timing Out When Joining

Howdy folks!

Basically I'm trying to join the HL2RP server and I keep getting a time out error when it reaches sending client info.

I'm running off of an Acer laptop from 2015.

I was able to connect to the server twice before but for some reason lately I've been having this issue.

Thus far I have:

-tried reinstalling
-tried purging addons
-tried verifying game cache
-rebooting my laptop
-typing 'cl_updaterate 15' in console

And none of those solutions have worked.

Can anyone help?

You tried deleting addons?

I only have the addons the server has on /content.

When it's downloading materials, the game stops loading at

materials/decals/blood_puddle_01.vtf.ztmp

I think that's causing the crash, considering every time it reaches it the game simply freezes and after five minutes it goes to sending client info.

Have you tried verifying your game cache?

Acer, oh no, laptop oh no.

Did you ever timeout after the sending client info?

I seem to suffer from this very same problem, tell me, do you have the mounted games purchased ? Or did you download the textures of the games seperatly?

Also, I believe that if I time out once, and then retry to connect, I usually make it in the 2nd attempt

Yes, thats one of the things I know. It's because it needs to load a lot of stuff I guess, but I am still not sure why.
