Any guy that even considers laying a hand on a woman should be either beaten to a pulp or shamed for his life
Any guy that does lay a hand on a woman in a harmful way should be sent to prison.
I've been brought up to believe that this is purely inhumane, and I myself would always put myself between a guy trying to hurt a girl. Regardless if I can fight him or not, I'd rather take a beating.

In a way, yes.
I don't think anyone assaulting anyone is justifiable, but it would seem it is more so shunned upon for a male to hit a female, from what I've seen anyway.
