Just curious, does anyone here play tRPGs (like DnD, Dungeon World, Call of Cthulhu, etc)?
I've got into them over the past half a year(?), started with DnD, later switched to Dungeon World when the DM of the previous group invited me to his next game.
Haven't played that many sessions yet, but honestly the environment feels pretty liberating. Yeah, you will have to use your voice, your enjoyment will partially depend on finding a good group with the same wants/needs as you, you won't get events with many different players participating, you will only be able to play at pre-determined times and the quests/content your characters will be doing will often be crafted and offered to you by the DM (depends on the game), but it's fun to roleplay a character in a small group, especially with the person in charge of acting out the "mechanics" of the game right there with you.
Each of the characters can get more focus- opportunities to act, importance in the narrative (and the gameplay dynamic) and custom ties to the game world. Rules can be bend for the sake of the story. No being limited in where you can go or what you can do (well, in reasonable, "being a nice player" way). You don't have to pointlessly grind. If you have a cool idea, you can bring it up and maybe see it implemented. The narrative and world can realistically change a lot. Etc etc
also it's relaxing to chill in a Discord call with the same 4 people each week
