Previous experience with Vortigaunt factions:
No this is my first time.

Have you read the Vortigaunt Guide?:
Yes I have.

Character Name:
"
Elvis"

What kind of character do you plan on portraying? How do their traits distinguish them from the rest of their species?:
Elvis is die hard musician and chronicler of human history, he is obsessed with the fuzzy feeling provided by a semi broken static radio that relays short bursts of music and mostly pointless information. He is kind hearted yet simple soul, his destiny is rather mundane. All Elvis's wants to do is boogie and listen to banging tunes. E

Brief Backstory:
In the eerie forested mountains and sparse deserts of New Mexico, about a mile and half from the shadowy recesses of Black Mesa, there lived a reclusive hermit musician named Henry. Cut off from the outside world, Henry spent his days composing haunting melodies on his harmonica, accompanied only by the cacophony of deadland surrounding him. Little did he know that his solitary existence was about to change forever.

One fateful night, as a mysterious electrical storm engulfed above his solitude, a strange portal rift opened from xen, it appeared that this was not the intended location for the rift and from its swirling depths emerged a Vortigaunt unlike any other. This particular Vortigaunt was different; he had a unique fascination with the unfamiliar musical sounds coming from Henry’s humble abode. As he stepped through the portal, his luminescent eyes fixated on Henry's harmonica, the sole instrument in the hermit's possession. Drawn by an inexplicable force, the Vortigaunt approached Henry, who, both startled and intrigued, decided to call him "Elvis" after a legendary human musician from the distant past.

Elvis quickly became enamoured with the harmonica's soulful tunes, and under Henry's patient guidance, he started to mimic the sounds. The Vortigaunts harmonic growls and mesmerising hums blended beautifully with the harmonica, creating an otherworldly symphony that echoed through the deadlands like a siren's call.

As days turned into weeks, the unlikely duo formed a profound bond. Henry shared his knowledge of music and dance with Elvis, who absorbed every bit of information like a sponge. Despite their differences, the barrier between human and Vortigaunt slowly dissolved as their shared passion for rhythm and melody brought them closer together.

Elvis soon discovered radios scattered throughout the deadlands. He was captivated by the way they transmitted sound over vast distances and tirelessly worked to understand their technology. With his innate Vortigaunt abilities, he could manipulate electromagnetic waves, allowing him to tune into distant radio stations and even communicate with other beings across dimensions.

Over time, word of Elvis and Henry's unique musical performances spread, drawing the attention of adventurers who sought to understand the enigmatic Vortigaunt's connection to radios and his unparalleled passion for music and musical dance.

As the combine incident unfolded, and chaos engulfed the world, Elvis and Henry found themselves drawn into the conflict. United by a common cause, they joined forces with other resistance fighters of the deadlands to fend off alien invaders and oppressive forces. Elvis's control over electromagnetic waves proved invaluable in communicating with allies and uncovering vital information. But sadly in a skirmish with combine forces, Henry was fatally wounded. Elvis attempted to ease Henry’s pain as he passed. But was unable to save his life.

With a heavy heart, Elvis mourned the loss of his dear friend Henry the hermit who had given him purpose and a taste of humanity's wonders. With his harmonica as a cherished memento of their time together, Elvis set off on a solitary journey through the desolate and unforgiving Deadlands of New Mexico.

In his wanderings, Elvis became an enigmatic figure, a Vortigaunt traversing the desolate landscape in search of radios and a place to call home. His once lively and vibrant eyes seemed tinged with a touch of melancholy, but the spark of curiosity and passion for music still burned brightly within him.

Among the ruins and remnants of the old world, Elvis encountered remnants of radio technology and music archives. He found solace in the crackling static of ancient radio signals, seeking fragments of human history and culture through the airwaves. He would sit for hours, tuning in to various frequencies, hoping to catch snippets of music, news, or voices from a bygone era.

As he continued his journey, Elvis occasionally encountered other survivors of the cataclysmic events that had unfolded. His presence, once met with fear and suspicion, now carried a sense of hope and understanding. He used his innate Vortigaunt abilities to help those in need, mending injuries and using his electromagnetic talents to repair broken devices.

Throughout his travels, Elvis encountered a diverse array of characters, from scavengers seeking relics of the past to nomadic bands that preserved human traditions in their own unique ways. In each interaction, Elvis learned more about humanity's indomitable spirit and the resilience it had displayed in the face of overwhelming adversity.

As the years passed, the legend of Elvis spread far and wide. People spoke of a mysterious Vortigaunt who wandered the Deadlands, seeking radios and preserving the memories of humanity's past through music. His harmonica playing became a symbol of hope, inspiring those who heard it to persevere in the harshest of circumstances.

In the end, Elvis's search for radios and a home led him to a profound realisation. The radios he sought were not merely pieces of technology; they represented a connection to a world that once was—a world he had embraced and come to love through his time with Henry. And the home he sought was not a physical place, but a sense of belonging and purpose he had found in his journey.

Embracing his role as a wandering beacon and chronicler of human history, Elvis became a living bridge between the past and the present. He carried with him the memories of Henry the hermit who had seen the potential for greatness in an alien being, and in doing so, he honoured the bond they had shared.

And so, with his harmonica in hand and the echoes of the past guiding him, Elvis continued his journey through the Deadlands, leaving a trail of music and hope in his wake, a testament to the enduring power of connection and the resilience of the human spirit.

What kind of group(s) are you planning to work with (if any)?:

Probably will follow the lead of his kin.

Do you intend to request a power specific to your character? If so, specify (Keep in mind you cannot use this in S2K situations):
Maybe a limited time temporal ability to tap into to a specific faction's radios?

For someone I haven't seen much of, I'm honestly impressed by the writing quality of this application. Good vocabulary & an even better sense of how to use it.

Accepted.
