Yet the goverment has left us to hang out to dry

I myself as many of you know was heavily active in the Events and Theatre industry as a lighting technican.
Over the summer period i lost out on £6000 profit. However the goverment are unwilling to support me and many other freelancers and employed people in the industry.

Know this doesnt effect a gaming couminity but thought I would just increase awareness of such a large sector of people.
Also I got on vice news

I get the idea behind this post, but why create awareness within a roleplaying community? You'd have a better time on Instagram/Twitter

they're cool photos and the post was free without any fees so any awareness is good. I'm just saying that you'd grab more attention from your target demographic (people that attend events within the UK) if you posted it on other places

This whole lockdown has been quite demoralizing and dehumanizing. I wish the best for all freelancers and entrepreneurs struggling to make ends meet in these trying times. Governments will never fully recognize the damage done by isolation to the human mind and spirit.

i had to cancel a tour with my company in march, been sticking to writing over directing since then

the lack of proper protections for freelancers, artists and theatre institutions is utterly shambolic - the sums of money (a pittance) being dispensed will filter through to the top layer of establishment venues and royal companies, the rest will go to the wall sooner or later or have to lay off all their staff

every single artist i know, including myself, is now unemployed, and unable to get regular creative commissions outside of a trickle of online pieces

it's a very, very dark time for culture

hit me up @Tetra id love to hear about your work in lighting

    Very well put together.

    It’s 2:30 so can’t
See @Leather Clad Lad this is the reality at the moment. The U.K. creatives industry contributes so much to the UKs culture as a whole. We are the home of people like William Shakespeare,Dylan thomas ectera. Without us you wouldn’t be able to binge watch Netflix. Without us you couldn’t see your favourite artist live.

we never get recognition we deserve and at the moment I hope this is giving the goverment and the public a wake up call about how big an industry we are.

also Dallas sure would love to have a discussion. Im always up for talking to another practitioner since at the moment we need our unity more than ever.

My father works in that branch, and he's been getting 10x less events in the past 5 months.
All have been cancelled or postponed.
The only retreat for him is our city academy-theatre where he helps his local crew that he's known and worked with for +15 years and more

    Shit fucking sucks man

Don't be a victim. Get out there, hustle. Go make money, live and prosper. Do it while you are young and still able.
