Because the community demanded it and head staff listened.

Also, because we don't want people shitposting nudity, gore, hentai, lolicon and memes all over the text discussions. Moderating a nebulous.cloud discord would drive any moderator to suicide of exhaustion to the point of near death.

discord is a shitpost hub more than a voice chat platform
